My sister has always wanted a Meglaodon tooth, but unfortunately real ones are pretty expensive. So I got her this one, it's a great looking replica and looks awesome. It's really really big too.

Paint chips
This tooth is so disappointing. The first tooth sent wasn’t even the correct one that we ordered. (We ordered white and they sent the black one. We had to exchange before even getting the correct tooth.) Our son, an enthusiastic tooth and fossil collector, has wanted this replica for months. He has had it less than a day, and has protected it and taken very good care of it (he keeps it on a display on a shelf in his room), and tonight my husband and I noticed the paint is already chipping. We picked up the tooth to inspect it more closely, and more paint came off. The tooth is large and feels like it’s good quality, but for $30, we expected the coloring to stay on the tooth. When our son notices tomorrow morning, I know his heart will be wrecked. Such a disappointing purchase.

I have a collection of authentic megaladon teeth. They are medium sized and have been a bit over-polished, evidenced by the lack of enamel. This replica is so close to an "untouched" tooth, one has to take a second look. I have seen authentic specimens of this size sell at shows for between 3 and 4 hundred Canadian dollars. A great, reasonably priced addition to a collector.

I have been a collector of fossils for over 50 years. I ordered this replica Megalodon tooth for comparison, to the ones in my collection. Without a doubt, this is an amazing reproduction, to every detail. I have seen natural, prepared, unpolished Megalodon teeth selling at shows for between 3 and 4 hundred dollars.
