I replaced the part and it worked perfectly.

Nothing good comes from being in a hurry. Every week or so I distilled about 8 gallons of water so we have it on hand due to our location we have very hard water and to make the irons and our coffee maker last longer I just still the water. In my haste of running my distiller I either got some water back in where the plug was or I didn't plug it in correctly either way the plug and the wire short it out. I thought I would have to throw the whole thing away because the plug burnt out. I happen to get very lucky and found what I needed online and was able to order it and have it shipped quickly. With a couple of wires swapped over from the old to the new and some bolts tightened on the new power outlet I was able to swap it and get my distiller working with very minimal downtime. I can't say too much about the build quality or the quality of the plug but so far it's actually lasted longer than the original. But as someone who lives in a rather remote area and I hate the idea of just throwing away something that's still good but it just needs a small repair I would rather get the items, if possible, and repair it as much as I can rather than throw it all away.

The quality seems good but the plastic is low density. I could imagine that the ears held in by screws to the chassis could break off. For the price they are good but do not give impression that they are top tier product. I was going to use them on my audio power amplifier I am building, but not sure how they will last with a heavy duty power cord.

This was an exact fit replacement for a broken power socket on a small Fender guitar amplifier. It was quick to replace, and the amplifier's push-on connectors connected firmly to the lugs on this socket.
