You get what you pay for
I ordered this phone because of the price - most voip phones are quite expensive. I read the reviews before purchasing so was not expecting too much from this product. First off, this is a very basic, cheap looking product, but it works fine and does the job for which it was designed and that was to replace the conventional headset. I had some problems with the software setup and had to resort to going to the the suppliers web site to download the latest drivers. It works fine now and I use it when I travel. It is permanently connected to my "road warrior" laptop. Would I recommend it? Maybe - but remember that you get what you pay for.

On Windows 7 Professional and Skype. Philips VOIP 080 = FAILED!
So I waited 3 years before writing this review, because I really wanted to like this device. It looks sleek and has a wire that is designed to be rolled away and fits comfortably in my hands. However, for 3 years, I've been waiting for it to work properly. The key pad does not work with Skype. Ive been hoping for an update to the driver or something that would make it function 100%. The microphone and the speaker works without issues, but every button on the keypad is ENTIRELY useless. I would had returned it but because I purchased it to take on travel, I exhausted the return period by the time I returned back to the USA from Asia. I'd give it a negative 5 star rating if that option was available. I do not recommend this for Skype users. Used on Windows 7 Professional and Skype.... Philips VOIP 080 = FAILED! 3 years late

Supposed to be new. But got a used device with no stand.
Thought it would be new.....it was used.....that's gross. And no stand as pictured. It works.....but feel like the seller misrepresented the ad.

A Great Phone For Skype Users
As a fairly regular SKYPE user, I was searching for a suitable U.S.B. phone to use on my Mac G-4 laptop. This unit, which comes with instructions written clearly, and NOT FOR ENGINEERS ONLY, was easy to set up, and use in a matter of a couple of minutes. The software, which installed rapidly, had no glitches, and guided me through the instructions with no problems. As far as use, it works extremely well, with a nicely lit keyboard, and easy to read keys, both numeric, and those for the various functions. Audio quality is very good, and I actually prefer using this phone, over the often-used USB Headset, with microphone, which obviously is somewhat limiting. It is a well engineered and well made item, that should serve you well, for a very reasonable price.

Good for the price
The quality of the calls are pretty good, the quality of the phone is on par with the price. Having a little problem with the software it doesn't load with skype every time, it says its not compatible with vista (old software i think). There maybe an update somewhere but haven't spent much effort to find it. I mainly bought phone to try out skype and have upgraded to the better Phillips phone and am very happy with it.

Good quality Skype phone for the money
I purchased the Philips VOIP 080 phone because of the price and Philips name. I wasn't disappointed. The Philips VOIP 080 Skype phone has good voice quality and a clear microphone that does not distort. I recommend installing the latest Skype software version 3.8.0.115. It has features that improve the voice quality, eliminating echo and other distortions. My only complaint is that the phone ringer is too low to be heard from the phone's earpiece, even on the highest setting. I have configured Skype so the phone's ringer uses my speakers instead of the earpiece. Problem solved.

Two soup cans and string work better.
GARBAGE PRODUCT, installation of software will erase all contacts in SKYPE. The update drivers on the website work like sand in a gasoline tank. I contacted the 24 hour CHAT and they tried to give me answers but they gave me more problems. There is no function for HOME PREMIUM or XP, it did work for VISTA but it erased all contacts. I had to ask SKYPE to fix my contacts twice. If you are willing to waste your good earned money, BACK UP CONTACTS before installation. This is the Third product from Phillips I have bought and two have been broken from the start. SHAME ON PHILLIPS!!!! if you dislike someone...buy this product for them as a gift. As of now I have banned myself from buying anything from PHILLIPS.

Two Stars
this phone was not at all what I thought it would be, too cheap to the touch and feel.
