Great for strengthening hands and also individual fingers!
You can get squeezy balls and such, but thing thing really works so much better if you want to make sure each finger gets its due. It's bigger and more cumbersome than like a little donut squeeze thing, but it's worth it for the extra dexterity and strength you get!

It's been a long while since I used one of these.
It's been a few decades since I actually used one of these. I decided to buy one of these again as in later years, I have started experiencing an issue or two, concerning my grip when it comes to closing my fingers. And this item seemed to be more durable in its construction than some of the other more modernized training tools found on here. Those familiar with certain animal based styles of Kung-fū, will recognize this in helping one with grip strength in certain claw type techniques. Well it works well, providing one doesn't overdo it. If I had one negative of this, it would be the lack of comfort factor when using it (which may be intended as Kung-fū training was never supposed to be at all comfortable). I may try to find some way of padding the hooks, thus giving one's fingers a break while using this item.

The Eagle Claw...
The eagle catcher is amazing. After some steady use of this product I don't wake up the next day feeling like somebody ran over my fingers with a truck. As advertised this product does increase the strength of your fingers sigificantly. Although slightly archaic in design this product works. If you feel like it's too easy for you using the specific finger position that the catcher has, just double up the hooks and work your fingers singularly. I haven't met anybody that can actually touch all of their fingers to their thumb. I have noticed significant gains in hand strength also. I shrug 285 lbs. without straps and my forearms don't feel like they're engorged with blood afterwards. I took the claw to work and my co-workers can't get enough of it. People wander up and use it, then continue about their business. It's brought on the "eagle claw" comments too. You can feel the power in your hands after just one week. No joke. I can close the 200 lb hand grippers and the eagle claw still gives me a run for my money without my knuckles feeling arthritic the next day (had to mention it twice). Bought mine for $11. Can't beat the results and novelty of it. You won't be disappointed.

Really showed me what a wimp I am
I have been using hand clamps for quite a while to try to develop wrist and hand stability. My acupuncturist recommended this. Seriously? I have to really stretch my fingers to be able to engage the hooks, then despite my best effort, I don't see any movement in the springs as a pull. However, I will take that as an indication that all of the work I have done with the hand clamps have not done their job, especially since I am not seeing significant progress in the hand and wrist stability, so this is my next step in exercise purgatory. I do wish it had Adjustable tension, so that I could at least feel I was doing something to move those springs. Stay tuned.

this one may actually be my favorite! Why
I have to say, out of all of the fitness products I have ever bought, this one may actually be my favorite! Why? Because I have always had the desire to have an extremely strong grip, because it helps a lot with sports and when I have to do manual labor for hours. This product has turned my hands into beasts, and I am starting to have the grip of a bear. I can tell that this product has because of how much stronger I feel when I shake other people's hands, as well as the veins that pop out of my hands when I make a fist. I tend to hit the heavy bag in my basement without gloves a lot of the time, and I don't doubt that it has helped with that too. Also, as a catcher in baseball. It will help tremendously when the season comes when I need to frame pitches.
