VLF2.1 Metal Detector

This is our first Metal Detector and we are not disappointed. We rent an old farm house, so there's metal all over the place; in the pastures and around the house. You usually have to dig a little to get it, which is where the metal detector comes in handy. The Bounty Hunter VLF seems sturdy enough and we've unearthed some old farming implements that were long forgotten. The price of iron is worth a little digging, especially since we live near a scrap yard. My eight year old son is making money while learning to be persistent. It is so fun hunting for treasures with him and seeing his excitement when it's time to dig. Although we haven't found anything real valuable yet, the Bounty Hunter VLF is definitely proving to be worth the money.

Not as sensitive as I had hoped but DID help me eventually find our dogs license lost in the yard under foliage.

I bought this detector for my son. I know it's cheap and was prepared for whatever the end result was. The first thing I noticed about it out of the box was that they certainly spared all expenses in production costs. It's completely plastic...all of it. I am afraid of it breaking. It has your basic sensitivity and discrimination knobs. We have found coins around 3 to 3.5 inches. The description says 5 inches but we have been unable to find or detect coins at that depth. It does not pinpoint well, and the recovery is slow. I know again..this is an entry unit but I really want to put as much detail as possible for anyone seeking a first time detector or one for a kid. Spend about 35.00 more and get a better one. You can get a used ace 150 or a better entry level bounty hunter for around 100.00. The discrimination does work and if I get a signal when my discrimination is turned up 3/4 of the way or more than it's usually a good target. You can then turn the discrimination down which is similar to all metal mode and really get a good signal on it. That's how I pinpoint with this one. Good luck and I hope this helps.

A pretty basic, entry-level metal detector. If I were to pay full price I'd spend a little more and get something better, but on sale it was a good purchase for my seven year old daughter. We took it out in the yard and found a handful of metal fence staples, and at the beach found a pair of sunglasses. The dial to filter out iron from silver or gold didn't seem to really affect the results, though.

I got this because it was affortable but, after trying it I was very disappointed. I was in search of a old spring pipe buried under ground around 2 inches. It did not hit it at all. Tried all settings and no luck. It will pick up a quarter on top of the ground and thats about it. I threw mine away and went and bought a American made one at our local shop. DO NOT BUY.

The unit doesn't really work at all. I picked this up for the kids to go treasure hunting at the beach. Was sadly disappointed.

The only reason that I bought this detector was to find my wedding ring that I had lost. Money well spent! I read some of the other reviews before purchasing and thought I would give it a shot. I had a vague idea as to where I lost my ring. The detector worked great! It only took me about 25 minutes or so to find my prized possession. I also found a couple of coins. I would recommend this product.

I am happy with my purchase of my metal detector. haven't had a chance to use it. I'm sure I will be satisfied when I use it. I had another metal detector that was even cheaper. My grandchildren got their hands on it and it broke. I remind you it was a cheaper one. I enjoyed going out with it. I didn't find anything I know I will enjoy my new one. It wasn't expensive. I stayed in because of the cold weather during winter. I can't wait to go out again with my new metal detector.

Funktioniert gut. Bisher allerdings noch keine großen Schätze gefunden, aber einen Haufen rostiges Zeugs. Was ja auch Spaß macht. Allerdings braucht man auf jeden Fall noch einen Pin Pointer dazu, mit dem man beim buddeln die Richtung besser bestimmen.
