Systems Engineering Handbook: A Guide for System Life Cycle Processes and Activities
M**S
A common understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and the processes used by systems engineers
If you are interested in systems engineering, this handbook captures a common understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and the processes used by systems engineers throughout the lifecycle. It is not a complete representation of all systems engineering tools and techniques, but it establishes a framework within which those tools and techniques can be used.

Seems like a dictionary rather than a guide
A LOT of words are spent on defining terms and little on what makes a good systems engineer. I am disappointed. A boring read and not even a good reference.

Well organized and concise
Used it to study for the certification exam and passed! Interesting reading, as far as textbooks/handbooks go.

My 'go to' book for SE Lifecycle Processes
A brilliant reference book, a must for anyone involved with Systems Engineering (SE) Lifecycle Processes. Provides the background and in depth explanation for ISO / IEC 15288, in a readable and understandable way. My 'go to' book 🙂

Decent SE Handbook
I've read it cover-to-cover and found it to be a good read. More pictures and graphics would be helpful.

Good reference for the Systems Engineer but production of the book is disappointing.
I'm only on chapter 3 and so far it appears to be well written and not too heavy going, however I will say that the diagrams and illustrations are really quite basic. For such a book, I am surprised that the figures haven't been created by professional graphic designers - they appear to be created using basic MS Word, and are just pants, and become a bit of a distraction. The other issue I have is the inside margins of the pages which are too narrow. I'm only on page 30 and it's becoming a pain to read words closest to the inside margins - this is the first book I've ever come across with this problem. These issues will no doubt be considered trivial, and to an extent they are, but that does not detract from the fact that such a publication should have been produced to a far higher standard.

Good introduction.
Useful introduction to a holistic view of SE in a product lifecycle.Lots of definitions and references so you can be clear on the information, but this won't teach you the how, so you'll need practical experience on additional books if you want walkthroughs.Based on that, £50 is expensive so wait till an offer before getting.
