Depth dimension in image shows 38.4". Is this accurate?? Seems way too deep. Can anyone confirm operating depth?

I believe the 38" depth is with the back 11x17 paper feed open and operating. That paper feed probably adds a good 8 to 10 inches to the depth

does this do automatic duplex printing?

It does through the paper cassettes (drawers) but does not through the rear paper tray.

Is there only one paper tray? Need to frequently print 8.5x11 and 11x17

It does NOT have an 11x17 tray...which is very disappointing. I can only print 11x17 when feeding from top tray (singe sheet at a time).
