EPIC Uncured Bacon Protein Bars, Paleo Friendly, 12 ct, 1.5 oz Bars

I really like these bars. They are not like jerky but instead are a moist meaty bar, as if a can of spam was cut into bars and let dry ever so slightly. Some may dislike the texture but I really like them. I can eat them anytime for a protein boost that has a good meaty flavor. I'm not sure I would call the taste "bacon" per se, but a semi-smokey pork. They are not spicy like a meat stick but do have a similar inside texture. I find these to be better than all the protein workout bars that have a ton of sugar and they travel very well. I take them whenever I fly as a snack. I'd recommend trying one before buying a box but I buy 2-3 boxes at a time.

I am a cyclist and eat a good amount of protein bars. I have eaten so many protein bars over the years that I'm not a fan of the normal ones any more.Edit: Flavor reviews1. Chicken sriracha-nice and spicy. Good protein content.2. Wild boar-tastes gamey. Greasy and not the best protein content3. Salmon-maybe a little too much pepper. If you don't like it spicy, avoid. I like pepper but this was a bit too much for me. I'd eat this with a beer, which defeats the purpose of a low carb protein bar.4. Bacon-tastes amazing. Probably not very healthy in the long run.5. Bison-the cranberry and work well together.

I really enjoyed these. I was on the hunt for a better for you jerky for me and the family and I stumbled upon these and fell in love. They are very meaty and satisfying.

I was hesitant to purchase this particular bar because I was afraid it would taste like Ham/Spam. I was wrong for the most part. I love Bacon but hate Ham and this is NOT a bacony taste but it is good. I wanted to purchase this for a quick breakfast on the go so, If you're thinking of purchasing this, I would say try it. The taste is similar to a light teriyaki taste with a bit of pepper but easier to eat than jerky. The texture was ok, a little like diced ham cubes pressed together, but don't let that put you off. These are tasty, easy to transport and a good alternative to jerky, or drive through. There is no weird smell, or aftertaste.I am excited to try the this winter during hunting season to see how they hold up to the cold and I will purchase these again.

Bacon Bars:I've been getting these on subscribe and save for a while and specifically chose this item because they did not have any type of added sugar. While mine always seemed dry, the flavor was good and I could deal with the dryness seeing as how I finally had a filling, no sugar snack to carry with me (and it tasted like bacon - even better!).Today I opened one from my most recent delivery and took a bite, only to taste a sticky sweet, pork flavored bar. It was so different, I wasn't sure if there was something wrong with it. I noticed the label read pork + maple bar, so I wondered if I was sent the wrong box. No, the company switched the product formulation and tried to pass it off as the same thing! My "100% sugar free...15g of protein" bar transformed into a "100% Natural Pork...8g of protein" bar. I also noticed the sodium increased to 590mg, from 330mg in the previous bar.I am extremely disappointed and have no desire to eat this new bar. It IS more moist, but I honestly don't like the flavor. I quickly cancelled my subscription and will not order any more products from Epic, as they no longer have items that work for me, nor do I feel I can trust them. My cousin started bringing these on backpacking trips a few years ago. Of the varieties he brought these are the best. So good! Lots of protein and they seem much healthier than the normal meat sticks we bring. Love em!

I like these bars. Once you get over the texture (like a healthy spam bar) and just treat it like a thick jerky bar, the taste is pretty good. I eat 1-2 them with plantain chips and occasionally dried mango slices for a light meal/heavy snack. They are really the only Epic Bars that are fully AIP compliant. On average, this box is about $26 for 12 bars here on Amazon... that means it is $2.16 per bar. These bars are $2.49-$2.99 each at my local healthy/niche grocery stores (whole foods and trader joe's). So Amazon beats them on price.Since it is summer time now, I would recommend, while ordering on prime, to make sure they will arrive on your day off/day your at home. Meat bars sitting out in a mail box or on the porch for hours in the hot sun.... eww! I ordered them when I knew I would be off on Wednesday and was able to get them from my delivery man bright and early with no outside time. They don't need refrigerated but they taste just the same after you do.
