The DS4 controller is built in such a way as to be easy to repair. The most common part to fail is the power PCB and it's a very inexpensive part that's easy to swap-out when it goes bad. If your DS4 refuses to charge, a kit like this will bring it back to life. This kit even includes a small screwdriver in the case that you don't already have one. This is the 3rd or 4th time that I've replaced this component in my DS4 over the past 6 years and it's very easy. There is no need to replace your controller given how easy it is to repair it yourself (unlike xbox controllers). Be careful with the ribbon cable as that's the only part that isn't fool-proof. Just use the existing cable or train the new cable to the orientation of the original if it got damaged.

I replace the JDS-055 with the JDS-050 this come with and the 60V cable it comes with will not work with it. I reused the original 90V cable in the controller and it worked. I had two controllers that had the same issue so this is still a great deal for two charging adapters.

Controller was not charging. Removed the original micro USB circuit board & ribbon. After removal I could read the circuit board to be certain I was ordering the correct one. Removal of broken parts was super simple. Installation COULD be difficult, depending on your skill set. For me it was fairly easy but I can see it being difficult for some. A trigger popped out when reassembling (they just rest inside the frame) No problem but the tiny "tension spring" also popped out. These little springs return (spring back) the triggers. Luckily the other spring stayed in so I could figure out where and how it goes back. You need good eyes or reading glasses to see where & how it goes.Paid $9 on Feb 2021 and a new controller cost $60. BONUS, you get 2 sets so if my other controller breaks ill be ready!

I don't know why, but the LED they're using on this replica board is atrocious in comparison to Sony's.Not only is it bigger, but the color is terribly off. Instead of the idle charging pulse being a solid orange, it's a split green/yellow color (see image). This applies to every color you can pick, though some are much less problematic (red probably the best).Otherwise, it appears to work fine.Now if only Sony didn't use such a terrible connector in the first place to save on costs then maybe people wouldn't need to replace the port (or analog sticks, but that's another topic). But alas, that's Micro-USB in a nutshell and why any device using it has a set lifetime.There's a mod you can do to change it to USB Type C, but that's far more involved and requires actual skill, so only a handful of people will be able to attempt it. Baffling how no company decided to setup up and make a replacement board with a Type C connector for us average folk.

So I have been opening up my ps4 controller and swapping shells to make them custom and unique. As of late, I opened it one more time to swap out the buttons to gold metal ones. However, in doing so I have messed up the charging board/ribbon to the LED light indicator. Stressed out figuring I had to buy a new controller, I researched and found this product to solve my issues. It works great, swapped the charging board and ribbon ( can't just change the ribbon bc it will not fit the OEM Charge Pins) put it back together and sure enough, the light indicator turned on and was charging again. If you need to fix a broken charging port on a PS4 controller, look no further. Just make sure you get the correct replacement for your particular controller. For the money, it's worth buying a bunch of these and used controllers that people may be dumping for cheap because they can't charge them. Their loss will be your gain in about 10 minutes.
