Works better than previous mics
Everyone complained of how muffled I was with interference on mic that came with Jensen stereo, changed that mic to a Sony one. Not much better. This one has been a great improvement. Not perfect but much less better than the other two.

Effortless installation and a significant audio improvement
I installed this external microphone, and it fit perfectly in the same spot as my factory microphone with only a minor adjustment. I ran the cord down from the roof, through the A-pillar, and behind my aftermarket head unit—resulting in a clean and straightforward installation. The audio quality is incredible—it's a complete upgrade from the ineffective built-in microphone that came with my head unit. Now, my calls are crystal clear, even at high speeds, and I no longer have to repeat myself. If you're fed up with poor audio quality, this microphone is the upgrade you need. It is easy to install, and delivers outstanding performance.

Definitely works with older car stereos A++++¥ Recommended
Comes with plenty of cable so you can hide it and route it how you need to without being too short. I was able to route mine across the inside of the dash up the pillar and across the head liner to the middle with plenty to spare. The audio quality is very good not the best I have had for that but definitely does the job that its intended to do without issue or audio quality issues.

you have to get right on top of the microphone for it to not sound like you’re in a tunnel
this works OK it works much better than microphone that came with a stereo, but the sound quality is still not there. You still sound like you’re going in and out of a tunnel unless you get right on top of the microphone

A simple item, but a great value and a lifesaver...
Well, maybe "lifesaver" is too strong a term. But I had just gotten a car radio system which came with its own similar microphone, and when I was almost done with the hours long installation, I tripped over this cord while running it through the dash trim and tore it..!I looked at several replacements, and this was the only one in its price range that did not look strange or already have bad reviews. After installing it we tried several phone calls, and at lower than normal speech sitting in the driver seat, my wife said the call came through fine. What else could you want from a car microphone?

Failed Mic - Unbelievable and Minuscule Wires
I purchased this mic as a replacement for my Kenwood car stereo head unit. After plugging it it I gave it a test and found it had no audio into the unit at all. After checking and double checking that it was plugged in okay and all settings were correct, the only conclusion I could make is that I was sold a bad microphone.SInce it wasn't going to be used, I was interested to see why the mic didn't work. I started by cutting the cord to do a continuity test from each of the two wires to the 3.5mm plug. After stripping the sheathing away, I was shocked to see the miniscule "wires", not even measurable by common electrical standards (e.g. 22 gauge, 30 gauge and so on). The outer "braid" was barely there and the "center conductor" was even smaller. Both "wires" failed a continuity test from the open end to the plug. And yes, I tested my faithful VOM continuity checker to ensure it works fine. But it doesn't end there. The wires are so thin, I wondered if either would have continuity across each individual wire. Just an end to end test. Again, both wires failed. There simply isn't enough metal for each wire to have end to end continuity.I've worked with electronics for over fifty years, this is the first time I have encountered anything like this. Since this mic works for others, I can only surmise that this is a one-off issue, but still the company must be working with a very small margin on their minuscule wires. By comparison, the OEM Kenwood mic has a robust copper shield and (roughly) 30 gauge copper center conductor. It's one thing to lose a few bucks on a failed product, but losing the time to reorder something else is irritating.
