Worked well
Split tree logs easy enough and worked well to use as a wedge to drop a tree good quality and worth the price

Fantastic Tool
This works superbly well and easily splits normal logs with a few blows from a 2lb lump hammer. It even works to split gnarly wood.

It works with bit of a effort
Works well with a hammer

Good value & robust
Solid and well-made—does the job as expected. Worth mentioning (though it’s obvious): when it comes to hammers, bigger is better. A 6lb club hammer or larger will give you the best results. Great value for the price!

Works great
Tried today with Ash kiln dried logs and it works great with Faithfull FAIFG4 4lb Club Hammer with Fibreglass Handle 1.8kg. Cut logs in halves or smaller qith one or two hits.fantastic and cheap solution for too larg logs.Remember to use good thick gloves to avoid injury - it's rather obious for safety

Splits as it should very impressed!
I bought this splitter, and the Faithful 4lb club hammer to use with it.I usually split logs with a splitting axe but due to spinal problems it becomes painful very quickly. With this splitter and hammer it's much less painful for me and I can quickly and accurately split logs exactly as I want them. The twisting action helps split the log more easily and makes the splitting wedge less likely to get stuck and easier to remove if it does stick. Some reviewers mentioned that it was not sharp enough and just bounced of the logs but I found no such problem, and you can always sharpen it if you find otherwise.I was originally going to order the Eastwing E-5, 9" splitting wedge but at £28 I decided not to bother. And bought both the Faithful wedge and club hammer for less than £30 together.I am very happy with the wedge, and also the hammer and would recommend both as an alternative to a splitting axe for home use

Good for occasional splitting
I was looking for something for occasional splitting.I generally buy my logs in from the local tree surgon which are already split. However sometimes these are too big for my log burner and so I wanted something to split these without having to buy a big splitting axe.I already had a club hammer so thought I would give it a go. It's not razor sharp on the end but it doesn't need to be to split logs. The twisting action works well to split the logs. The club hammer I have is only 2Lb and these took a number of hits to split the logs. I did then buy a 4Lb club hammer which worked a lot better.I wouldn't want to split a lot of logs like this but for the occasional use I need it for it's perfect.

Fantastic tool
Helped me get through some really tough knotty pine. Can't say much more about it , line it up and whack it in.I did have some very large rounds - 3ft+ across, I have 2 regular straight wedges as well and needed all 3 and an 8lb Maul to get through it, this twisted wedge in the middle was key.
