I was hoping this kit would be of higher quality brass. This kits composition is yellow brass which is an alloy of copper and zinc. It’s softer and not as strong as red brass which is also alloyed but has tin in the mix. My old Carhartt zipper was red brass as seen in the pics. Not only will yellow brass look different, it’s not as strong. I would have paid a few dollars more for red had I known. Despite that, I’m happy that I was able to fix my jacket in about 1 minute. Missing 1 star for quality

This was extremely easy to use. I had lost the zipper pull off a Field and Forest (generic Carhartt) jacket. I found another jacket that I could zip it together with, read the zipper size off the back of that pull (a #5 in this case) and ordered this product. I used needle nose pliers to remove the top stop, slid a new slide onto the zipper, clamped the original top stop back in place, and it was good to go. This kit come with replacement top and bottom stops if you needed to cut one off or that is the part that broke. Extremely easy to use and should be able to fix pretty much any metal zipper.

My son crushed his Carhartt in his locker crushing his slider in pieces. I ordered these not sure I could fix it but because this is a complete set and the different size sliders I was able to match up to his coats teeth and replace with a little ingenuity because went from the top, too chicken to remove the bottom stop.This saved me almost 200 because I would have otherwise had to replace the coat or tried to find someone in the city who repairs zippers as I am very rural.

These are more than wonderful. Saved my favorite winter coat from the trash. Easy to install and a great value for the money. Nice selection of sizes too.

Makes my leather flight jacket just like new again after the handle broke off. This is genuine YKK hardware (best brand for zippers), and includes all you need to make the repair. Consult YouTube if you need help on the how-to.

I wish I knew about these restoration kits years ago. I was dreading having to remove and replace the long zipper on my favorite barn hoodie......and then I saw this kit. Took a whole 1 minute to remove the old zipper stop, slide the old zipper off and new one on.......and re-clamp the original stop back on. And it works perfectly!! Thank you to whoever thought up this kit!!!;O)
