Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters: An African Tale Paperback – January 1, 2008

I read this as a kid and HAD to get it to read to my youngins. Beautifully illustrated! EXCITED to have this in my collection!

The story is beautiful and the artwork is just amazing. I read this to kids when they were young and just recently one of my daughters in her late teens asked where this book was because she still loves the story. A story of two sisters with very different characters and - well, no spoilers here. Read it.

This is one of my favorite books from childhood. I’ve purchased several copies over the years for own children and my friend’s’ daughters. This is a timeless classic.

This charming story reads like a folktale. It is set in Africa so quite different from the US. The moral that beauty without kindness and compassion is worthless

This book is the only one I remember the most from Reading Rainbow. It is a timeless classic and worth every penny
