He's too little to care about the skin colors. I probably would prefer some more bright colors instead of all the skin tones. This stuff doesn't dry out, doesn't smell bad and isn't vey oily. He's 2 and mostly just laughs when I make him birds or dogs. It's a win for us.The skin tone colors are probably nice for older children.

This is a wonderful set of modeling clay! I bought it for my four-year-old who loves working with modeling clay. The variety of colors is great. The set comes with 4-5 tools for cutting, drawing, and otherwise making indentations in the clay. There is also a rolling pin, about 8-10 cookie cutters, a mold, and a plate with different textures. My child has really enjoyed experimenting with the different tools. Like most modeling clay, the clay will leave your hands and the surface you work on a bit waxy. Plan on using a tray or other mat underneath. The clay can be hard when unpackaged and sometimes my child needs a little help to warm it up so that it's more pliable, but it does not dry up. One thing that was disappointing is that the packaging is pretty flimsy and broke after only a few uses, so we needed to find another storage container for the set. Otherwise, this is a great set and I would recommend it for children ages 4-8.

High quality and really lit up my daughter's face when she opened it! We originally got this as part of our homeschool curriculum. We loved it so much when we now use it as our " go to" gift for all our art lovers! Clay is a little more advanced so I wouldn't suggest it for under 5.

I randomly purchased one of these when out with the kids, and ended up coming on Amazon to buy two more. My 1st and 3rd graders *love* them, and they're not very messy (Mom win). The kids are able to make really cool looking art. Highly recommend!

Have a beach house that grandchildren visit. Need to keep activities for rainy days. This kept them busy for hours. Money well spent.

We are an artistic home and I’m always looking for different types of crafts. My daughter has worked with a variety of clay material for various types of projects but using clay like a 3D paint wasn’t something she had tried. She really liked this kit and it opened up a whole different view of clay for her. This makes a great gift and breaks a child a bit out of the box. I would buy this again.
