Awesome bag!
Been eyeing this lane commuter from timbuk2 i have a couple backpacks and several messenger bags from timbuk2 and they last a lifetime. My very first messenger was from 2010 and although i’ve retired it, it looks and functions much like new bags today. So people complaining this is small and not enough space obviously did not read about it or watched reviews before purchasing.Yes it is on the compact side so if you travel light or intend to use this as a work bag then it is perfect.Pictured is my division bag next to the lane commuter. The lane commuter is taller but narrower and not as deep (imo). The lane commuter also has significantly less pockets VS the division bag.But i like simplicity and this lane commuter is just what i wanted to add to my collection. What i notixed is that the lane commuter has thicker padding in the back compared to my division backpack. It has stiffer outer material and one more bottle holder VS the division, but these are good things. The lane has 4 pockets in the front: 3 zipped and 1 magnetized magnet. The key lanyard is in the magnetized flapped pocket. The top on has very soft liner perfect for glasses/sunglasses or anything you dont need to get scratches. Now the pockets are abit limited in space theyre almost flat so if you have anything bulky or wide, it may stick out/bulged.The inside/main compartment only has one pouch for a laptop but the main compartment is very deep so you can shove plenty of tall items in there. Power adapter would be ideal in there.Oh yea the straps are positioned a bit lower then the top edge of the bag. This means when you wear it there is a noticeable portion that looks like it it sticking up. I am totally ok with this but some people might find it odd lookingSo yeah, i personally love this lane commuter. It is a very straightforward everyday backpack with less than average pockets. But it has plenty of space in the main compartment for a laptop, tablet or even another laptop, or a day or two’s worth of clothes.Only thing i wish it has is the “san francisco” logo under the timbuk2 logo in the front and on the strap. Looks like the older version has the sf in the logo. It is still legit though. If you go to the timbuk2 website the video they got there also has the missing sf logo. Not a biggie. Thanks for reading and Have a good one

Great versatile Edc bag bag that puts bloat in check
True, not a huge bag, but that’s actually the appeal to me. This thing doesn’t need more L, we need less. ;) Seriously though, a laptop, book or two, and digital essentials all fit fine. The appeal of this bag is that it’s compact, and works well for an Edc or light travel. One thing that helped me: add some shimoda straps to the front and you can add a jacket, use as roller bag attachment, etc. The bag looks great, is unique, feels very durable, and is very comfortable on the back. Bottom pocket can be used for additional storage if you don’t need the raincoat regularly. I tried out a bunch of bags for primary edc and travel-functional, this is the winner.

Very good quality, possibly a bigger bag would fit me better
I've been using Timbuk2 bags since 2011, the bag came in excellent shape as usual, very nice looking and visibly reflective as promised.I commute by public transportation and am a software developer so I carry a 14 inch mac and sometimes also a 13 inch mac, both macs fit in even together, in the slot for the laptop. The case for the Sony headphones is possibly a bit to bulky for the bag, but it fits, with the glasses, woman purse, small pouch for creams. I put the power blocks in the front pockets. So, everything fits, but I probably should have taken the bigger Parker, because if I have both laptops + gym clothes the bag is at its max.I may get rid of the magnetic straps, since I rarely use them and they often click together so you put the bag on your shoulder and then realize you need to brake it off.

Nice Compact Bag
The bag is small. I fit a 14” laptop, 13” iPad, and some AirPods Max in mine and it’s basically full. Along with a variety of small things like chargers and calculators in the exterior pockets. The water bottle holders can accommodate pretty large containers, though I would stop at a 24 ounce bottle to keep things secure. The build quality is fabulous. It feels solid and like it will never fall apart. The pads are sleek but comfortable and breathable. I also like that it includes a rain cover in the bottom of the bag, hidden away in case I’m hit with hard precipitation. It’s definitely a premium option considering the price. But I was fed up with having to buy a new bag every few years, and I think that all ends with this product.
