Dermot O'Leary joined BBC Radio 2 in September 2004, presenting a Saturday afternoon show. Each week as part of the show Dermot invites a whole host of acts to perform live. These artists perform both covers and new renditions of their own tracks and these performances form the Saturday Sessions. The Saturday Sessions 2011 is packed full of live and acoustic performances from artists including Florence & The Machine, Jessie J, Plan B, Elbow, Noah and The Whale, Foster the People, Kasabian, Will Young, Adele and many more. It includes covers of classic tracks by Michael Jackson, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon and Kate Bush, along with stripped back performances of current tracks.

Really great music
This is a slower version of the songs featured but is great chill out music, don't think its going to be like the live lounge radio 1 stuff because its alot more laid back style of music but i love it

Amiable Background Acoustic Music
The second volume of The Saturday Sessions makes for a very easy, pleasant listen. It is unlikely to change your life, but will provide it with a soundtrack many would enjoy. The tracks - some covers, some originals - are all played acoustically, often with only the sparse guitar based accompaniment. This gives the recordings a surprising degree of homogeneity - or 'sameyness' for those less enamoured by it. Stand out tracks are relatively few and far between, perhaps for that reason; 'Billie Jean' by the Civil Wars deserves special mention, however.A very listenable to album, then, which provides pleasing background music, in the best sense, for parties, reading or just getting on with relaxing.

Really like it
I thought it was a really good CD, having listened to him on the radio. I have discovered some new bands by listening to this CD. I like the different versions of well know songs by trendy or new bands/ singers.

Always love the cd
Have most of Dermot's Cd, great tunes and well put together, just wish he brought them out more often, I'm not one for buying loads of different full albums so this is great as I get the best tunes.

Great live music
Lots of tunes for your money on this interesting compilation. A huge variety of artists performing live in the BBC studios often choosing to sing tracks unusual to their normal repertoire. Well worth a listen.

I bought it just for 'I've been losing you'
I heard the track 'I've been losing you' as sung hauntingly by King Creosote (I quite liked the original, but this is so much better) looked it up on line and found that it could only be got by buying the complilation (shakes fist).... Anyway, kept listening to the sample on this site and took the plunge. Not every track is to my taste and I certainly prefer the 2nd Cd, but out of 40 tracks there's only about 3 I punch the mute/next button but there's at least a dozen tracks that I like very much, so for £6.99, it's good for the money. Have even gone back and got a king creosote cd :-)
