Very good quality and good durability.
I have had this case for years and I truly can say it works really good. I would definitely buy another case like this one in the near future when I get a new iPad.

Great cover
I read many reviews on different covers for the Fire HD 8" tablet. Some stated that the cover was OVER the Speakers. I noticed this one said it opened from left to right to allow the Dolby Speakers to be fully exposed so that is why I purchased it. I am glad I did. It is a great cover easy to insert the tablet and it is very secure. I like the looks and using the kickstand is important to me it works very well. Also I like the exposure of the speakers when I am streaming I think it would decrease the clarity of the sound some if the speakers were covered. I definitely would recommend a friend to purchase this case/cover. Good price and good product. I need to add the case is designed to allow full access to volume control, on/off, ear bud connection and charging connection with the case left on. Very well designed.

Near perfect but for ONE issue
This is the NEAR-perfect cover for my Amazon Fire HD 8: The material & fit are good. The tablet is held securely. The cover protects well. It's stable when setup as a stand. The magnets are strong (doesn't open by accident0. The sleep function works 100% when cover is closed. Now, the ONE negative: Because the cover is in 3 sections, when you close the cover, if you're not careful, it closes as if it's a whip -- the last section with the magnets inside swings REALLY FAST -- and SLAPS HARD against the stops, which are slivers of metal that stick up from the frame of the bottom half. Over time, the hard slaps BROKE one of the metals strips. Then, in time, the other; both metal pieces broke from the case after ~9 months. So the cover wouldn't magnetically stay securely closed anymore. :-( I bought another one, knowing this flaw because the cover was that good in all other respects. I now close the cover gently and with deliberation. [I know could've probably could've nagged the seller for a free replacement at 9 months.. but I felt stupid, and mad at myself and my carelessness, to have contributed to the last cover's demise. (Still, it was badly designed; the metal slivers SHOULD'VE been flush with the case so no amount of impacts could've dislodged the metal pieces. Duh!) When I got the new one, I slam-dunked the broken one into the trash bin, and called it the day.]

Good Quality Cover for Amazon Fire HD
Good quality cover for Fire HD 8 tablet, fits perfectly. Nice magnetic attachment, which wakes up the tablet after opening. Feels good and sturdy while holding. So far no issues. Recommended.

A nice, basic tablet case with a landscape stand.
When I travel on vacation, I travel light. Even when I'll be gone for a month everything I bring fits in a small carry-on and "personal item" sized backpack. I use my Fire 8 HD+ tablet quite a bit, including as a "laptop" with a folding keyboard when I travel. This case/stand works really well. It's lightweight, fits well, and holds and protects my tablet when I toss it in my carry-on backpack with other travel gear. Simplicity and function. Exactly what I need in a tablet cover.

Not sure if I would buy another one of these...
First of all, I will say that I love my Kindles! I think I have at least 6 of them. This one is nice and I really like the size for carrying around and for travelling. The screen is nice and I have read many books and watched many videos on it. BUT, this model of Kindle has some issues as well...First, if you buy a cover, the way they are set up and the way the main power button is located on this Kindle, it is very easy to accidently hit that button and close whatever you are looking at. Then you have to wake it up again and enter your pass code top continue watching/reading...very annoying and something that was not a problem on any of my prior Kindle Fire tablets. The bigger problem with this particular model, and I have seen it mentioned on other reviews as well, is that someties when the Kindle goes to sleep, it does NOT want to wake up! Many times now, after I put the Kindle down after reading and close the cover, it goes to sleep. Sometimes it will wake up like it should but oter times - probably at leat half the time, it simply will not wake up until you plug it into a charger. Within seconds after sensing the charger it will go through a re-boot and work just fine. And it is not a case of the battery being run down. As soon as it wakes back up, the charge will show as 89% or whatever it was when it went to sleep...And again, while some of the time this is just a nuisance, whe it happens while I am not around a charger, I end up with a totally useless device until I can find a place to plug it in. I have read online about ways you are supposed to be able to get around this...press this button for 20 seconds, press that one for a minute...absolutely nothing works to wake it up except plugging it in to a charger. And that is enough to make me want to throw this one in the garbage and buy another brand of tablet! Amazon need to redesign the button layout and fix this bug!
