🎶 I like big pallets and I cannot lie, those other brothers may deny… 🎶
As others have said, she’s a big ‘en! Much to the demise of my art teacher, I am a watercolor junkie. She’s taught me color theory and how to max colors, but if I can buy something that looks JUST like terracotta, I will do it and save myself wasting paint AND cussing trying to mix it perfectly. Knowing I can fit *almost* all my paints in this makes me happy! Will it be my mobile pallet? No, way too big, but I’ll enjoy using it in my home studio. It seems very well made, latches well, and lays flat. I’m very happy with my purchase!

Gorgeous, best palette for a large collection of watercolors
I'm not going to lie, I started crying when I opened up the case and the palette because it was so incredibly gorgeous. The listing definitely doesn't do this item justice. The front is iridescent and it's bigger than I expected, the wells are HUGE. It is so well made and shiny. Mijello is a top tier brand and this is my favorite palettes that they sell. This item in an art store will charge more than twice the price. One of my favorite amazon purchases to date. You can also really tell the difference in quality, even compared to other Mijello palettes. I always wondered, "why bulletproof glass?"I get it now

Its beautiful but impossible to open!
After the struggle of getting it open i wiped it with a damp magic eraser to get the smoothness off the plastic. Works wonderful. Do not do what i did and put your colors on both sides unless you dont plan on packing it up to store or move. It quickly became a mess. Lesson learned. I really think it is indestructable!

like the 24 well Mijello I use for occasional hues
This palette was hyped in a recent workshop along with some other items from the company along with free paint samples. Prior to the workshop, Prior to the course, considerations were being made to purchase this Mijello 55 well palette. Instead, the large Steven Quiller palette for its spaciousness - that palette will sit on a shelf and until a young painter comes along and starting out in acrylic. In the workshop, the instructor touted the Mijello as "a palette which will allow the paint to spread and not bead up". Well, like the 24 well Mijello I use for occasional hues, this palette beaded plentiful, and did not spread a better than the (older) John Pike seen in the attached picture at the top. Both palettes are compared to a homemade porcelain fired sheet of metal on the right, which I use for mixing paint. Of course, the porcelain is the gold standard for its beautiful abilities. This palette from Mijello will move into the primary palette position for the simple reason of spacing color that I don't care to cross contaminate; especially with the staining colors.Polycarbonate or plastic palettes lack porosity. Thus, it is too much to ask for them to spread paint well. If the had said the spread is like another plastic, 5 stars may have been indicated. However, the Mijello reps awarded with freebies the instructor to say otherwise.

The best palette ever!!
I happened across this very large Mijello watercolor palette on Amazon and immediately ordered it. What a wonderful thing it is, holding so much paint! I put nearly all my collection of M Graham watercolors in here. The wells are correctly shaped, with a downward slope, so that you can gently put your brush in it to gather paint, instead of grinding away with an expensive sable and ruining the point. The price isdefinitely right on Amazon and I would not hesitate to recommend this palette to any watercolorist who wants a decent palette for home use. It is too large, IMHO, to be taking out to paint en plein air but just perfect for the studio. The palette is very well made, sturdy and closessecurely with no fuss. This will be around for a long time, it is not cheaply made but thoughtfully put together. Thanks Mijello, for making the perfect studio palette and thanks Amazon, for carrying them!!

Think I found my my favorite palette!
Love all the spaces for paint colors. 3 mixing areas. The heavy plastic wipes of leaving no color residue. Folds to close. I leave damp sponges in mixing areas to keep paints wet. Love this palette!

Weak connection part.
I received this about a week ago and after using this once, the connection part is broken already. It was made out of cheap plastic. I don't recommend this.
