These toothbrushes have dense, extra-soft bristles, so they are gentle and effective. However, because the surface of the bristles is flat (i.e., no contouring of the bristle arrangement), these don't seem to clean between teeth as effectively as some toothbrushes with contoured bristles. For a flat toothbrush surface, though, these are high-quality toothbrushes.
