Fast, Power Speeds
I'm really impressed with the Anker USB to Ethernet Adapter! It's been a game-changer for my home office setup. The plug-and-play design makes it super easy to use, and the aluminum body feels solid and durable. The 1000Mbps Ethernet speed is lightning-fast, providing a stable and reliable connection. I've noticed a significant reduction in lag and buffering, even with multiple devices connected to the network. The compact size and portable design make it perfect for travel or switching between devices. I've taken it to meetings, used it at home, and even brought it on the road – it's incredibly convenient. *Pros:* - Fast and stable Ethernet connection - Easy plug-and-play setup - Compact and portable design - Durable aluminum body *Cons:* - None notable – it's a solid product that gets the job done! *Rating: 5/5 stars* I'd highly recommend this adapter to anyone looking for a reliable and fast Ethernet connection. It's been a great addition to my tech setup, and I'm sure it will be for you too!

Rock Solid Connection, Solid Performance, Compatible with Linux
I am using this adaptor with an Intel i5 Framework 13 with a USB-A adaptor module. There is an ethernet module for Framework laptops, however it is 2.5GB and sticks out beyond the frame of the laptop. I don't have 2.5GB and I prefer the sleek frame with a USB connection I can remove easily. 99% of the time I use this dongle it's at one location, so when I get up, I unplug the dongle and take my sleek laptop. I dual boot and run Windows 11 and Debian 12, and the dongle works great in both OSes. iperf says this is a full gig ethernet NIC, and when it's plugged in it's solid, even with my laptop going to sleep, in my IDS it says it's been on the network for 16 days and 21 hours (last time I rebooted to switch to Windows).

Seamlessly works on mid-2012 MBP macOS mojave
I have an older macbook pro (mid-2012 13") that has multiple ports. One of which is the ethernet port. It's been my go-to since wifi connection has been spotty for me otherwise. Unfortunately, that port had become non-responsive over the years dealing with wear n tear. I figured I'd get Apple's USB A ethernet adapter, only to learn that it had been discontinued just weeks prior?! Fortunately, I was given great advice to try Anker - by an apple guy whom mentioned that he's used them with apple devices without a hitch. I'll admit I was skeptical. I couldn't see the ports clearly on the adapter and was just frustrated with having to look for an adapter. However, I was able to find this adapter and it checked the boxes, in addition to having a chord that looked very well constructed to handle contortions. When I got the adapter, it was relatively simple. I went to my Network (in System Preference) to see if it required any additional part on my end. And...no It simply worked. It is able to work in either usb ports on my macbook pro. I'm also using macOS mojave - for those wondering. Connection speed has been as fast and reliable as my original setup with the ethernet cable. So if you're using an older macbook that's on an older macOS, I'd say this is worth giving a try! I entered the process of looking for an usb a to ethernet adapter with some trepidation; however, this answers all those questions and has worked seamlessly from day 1.

Great when direct connected. Incompatible with some docks.
The positives: * This is a great adapter with a very very high build quality and finish. That's typical Anker. * Works perfectly with my 2015 MacBook Pro either direct connected or through an Anker USB3.0 Hub. * Provides full Gigabit speeds when connected directly connected to my Intel 16" Macbook Pro laptop. The negatives: * Very slow uploads when connected via a dock to my 16" MacBook Pro. Details: I bought this adapter so I could have a one-connector solution to getting my laptop setup in my vacation home. I intended to connect the ethernet adapter between the switch under my desk and the Travel Dock. All of this equipment except the Anker Ethernet adapter are things I had in my house.I was very surprised to discover that the adapter does full duplex 1Gbps when connected directly to my laptop but can only muster 10 Mbps uploads if it's connected through the dock. It's too bad. My intention was to leave everything plugged into the dock and then plug in one thing when I wanted to use my laptop at my vacation home. I've given the adapter 5 stars. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. If there is a problem, it's caused by the way I've set things up.

Good buy
I bought this because my old laptop only has usb ports and no ethernet port. Silly! Anyways, this unit performs flawlessly. Good speed. I needed to ssh to my router, zero issues. Definitly would buy this again.

No disconnects
Bought it, plugged it into my PC, worked without a single issue. When it comes to these USB to ethernet adapters, it doesn't matter who makes the product; 90% of them all run the same chip. Specifically, the ASIS AX88179. I bought a different brand which had the base AX88179, and the darn thing had constant disconnects. Driver reinstalls and device manager settings changes did not fix it. Ultimately, I had to return it. This adapter runs the AX88179A, which is a newer revision of the chip. I've not had any disconnect issues so far. I'll dock one star for price, but honestly, I'd gladly pay a premium for a product that actually works 100% of the time. Edit: well it happened. After 1 year and 10 months, the adapter started dying. It didn't explode or do anything dramatic, but it just started developing sporadic connectivity problems. Like once every 1-2 days. On the other hand, my motherboard's internal ethernet controller has magically started working! I guess 2 years of Windows 11 updates, firmware updates, and BIOS updates finally made something click. So I'm gonna keep the 4 star rating. It did it's job. Just know that if you use it 24/7 like I did, it won't last forever.

Good adapter
Works perfectly, barely gets warm. Definitely worth it, especially for laptops without an ethernet port (I'd rather have that but this gets the job done).

Plug & Play on Windows 11
Windows 11 compatible. Plug & Play. Couldn't be easier to use. Just don't accidently plug it in to a usb 2.0 slot in the back of you computer like I did. Will not work then. Doubled the speed I was getting from WiFi. Just as good as the RJ45 slot on my motherboard (before lightning ran in on it). Wish I had purchased one sooner.
