A cost-effective moisture detector that worked well
It works well and when tried on different types of fresh, dry and rotten wood gave sensible readings. The black protective cap is a bit difficult to get off at first, but will probably get easier as the little tabs wear a bit. For the price it is good value for money.

Well made and accurate !
Easy to operate and clear display panel , really good value for money and proven to give accurate readings so I can use the most suitable dry logs first . The batteries are easy to replace and the protection cover is good to flip off . Would highly recommend this moisture guage .

Damp Meter
Works well and easy to set up and operate. The range of settings is also very good. Using it to sort out a minor damp problem.

I liked the ease of use of the Moisture Dampness Meter Damp Detector Tester for Wood. You need to be fairly strong to flip the top off, but it's really a knack. After that, take off the prong protectors and turn the item on. I pushed it as far as I could (which isn't far) into the wood and it registered 11.7 - a lot less than the sales person registered (15.2) on their machine, and they were saying it needs to be closer to 8. Well, maybe I didn't get the prongs far enough into the wood, or the calibrations were different, but I'll trust it as a cheaper alternative to paying for impregnation in my loft - another thing I'd have been SOLD rather than BUYING.

Good useful product, at a respectable price
Great useful product, especially if you have a caravan. We found damp just about everywhere. Needless to say we had to get rid of the caravan.

Moisture meter
I brought this product, due to recently having a multi fuel stove installed in my home. I was recommended to purchase a meter in order to be compliant with the laws covering buring fuels.The meter is easy to use, clear precise instructions on how to operate & is helping me to be buring fuel with the correct moisture content. Great value, great quality product.

Almost perfect
Works well but many of the trees listed for calibration are North American. It's a pity the table couldn't include more European species.I found the audible 'beep' very annoying. I opened the unit (four screws) and removed the offending buzzer. Much better!For those who have trouble removing the cap, don't pull upwards; instead push away from you with your thumbs.
