This insulation makes a night and day difference for your Jeep Wrangler Hardtop
Outside of having to remove the hardtop from my 2013 Jeep Wrangler, the installation of these insulation pads was incredibly easy. They fit perfectly, and make an immediate impact in insulating the hardtop from heat (and presumably cold, but it is not Winter yet), as well as from road noise. I went from barely being able to touch the inside of the hardtop while driving in the sun in the summer and feeling the heat radiate on my head, to now being able to sit comfortably and not notice any heat coming from the hardtop. Additionally, the road noise was immediately improved once these were installed. I am sure that other similar products may work just as well for a lower price (although I don't know that for a fact since these are the only ones I have tried), but I can assure you this product works incredibly well, and if you drive a Jeep Wrangler Hardtop, you will be very glad to have installed this. Additionally, it does not at all detract from the look of the hardtop, and in fact once installed, it fits so well, it looks like it came like that from the factory. I highly recommend this product.

OEM quality
i waited a little before i did the review. i installed this about 6 weeks ago. i live in the desert southwest with summer temperatures over 100 degrees. our jeep was so hot the air conditioner was always on high and you could still feel the radiating heat on your head from the extreme temperature of the roof. this really did the trick! it really made a huge difference. i was worried the temperature would affect how the adhesive held. but so far so good. it also made a big difference in sound absorption. people can hear me better now when i use the bluetooth for calls. i did go the extra mile when it came to installation. i did not risk just sticking these on while the top was still on the jeep. i laid down some heavy blankets on the garage floor and turned the hard top upside down. i also found laying out all the little foam strips to match the indentations of the roof was a good idea. they are different sizes to match and fill the indentations so the big pieces lay more evenly. i cleaned the inside surface of the top with denatured alcohol and microfiber cloth. i’m telling you…… you only get one chance to position this! there’s no pulling it off to move it a little…. nope. not sure what the sticky surface is, but it’s forever. i have found that the paper liner you pull off is in two sections on the bigger pieces. so you position the foam pieces with the paper liners on and then fold up half, pull the liner and then press it down. repeat on the other side and it looks perfect. i even found a way to use this technique on the small pieces for the freedom tops. two of my friends have also bought these for their jeeps, and i helped them with theirs. it is worth the little extra effort taking the top off and working on its apart from the jeep itself. i love the product. it has performed as described. it was worth the investment.

What a difference! Absolutely worth it!!!
I was on the fence buying these. I'm new to the world of Jeep, but was shocked at how hot my freedom roof panels got in the SoCal sun, even with the air cranked, I could feel it radiating down on me and they were always too hot to touch during the day. ...I figured it was worth it. I started doing my usual research, reading reviews, etc, and found that the Hot Heads panels had a lot of detractors regarding their effectiveness and/or ability to stay adhered to the roof. These had the overall best reviews, and the price was much more reasonable. I fully removed my roof so I could really clean them well (degreaser, then soapy water, then rubbing them down with a clean cloth and isopropyl alcohol). For install, I'd caution that these can "stretch" if you aren't careful while peeling off the back while placing them down, so be careful to lay them out exactly where you want them, then start peeling from one corner and DON'T pull on them while laying them down. ...if you prepped the surface liek I did, they will NOT come up to reposition. Once stuck, they are STUCK! ...but that's a good thing. They aren't going anywhere! Now for to best news, WOW, what a difference!!! I never feel heat radiating down anymore. Even when it's over 100 degrees out, these prevent that heat from cooking my cabin. My AC can now cool the Jeep pretty quickly, and I can turn it way down, once cool, and maintain a comfortable temperature. For folks looking at them for acoustic properties, I'm not sure they make a huge difference, but they certainly won't hurt. For me the goal was heat prevention, and man do they deliver!!! Worth. Every. Penny.

2nd time is the charm!
The first order received was for the JL, not the JK. But they promptly sent the replacement order and it was for my 2017 Wrangler JK Sahara, 4-door. This has been my “fun” second car since June 2023 but will be my primary vehicle for the next 6+ months so I’m trying to make it more comfortable and functional. We installed the first row and third row easily, but I enlisted my husband for the second row so he could lift off the roof and create space between the roll bar/speaker bar. Without lifting the roof, there’s not enough space to safely slide the panel in and not risk ruining the panel. So far so good, the panels have been installed for 24 hours. Time will tell if the adhesive will stick in this North Carolina summer heat. No matter what, I will still keep the panels and just use additional adhesive to make them stay. I did give 4 stars due to the initial delivery issues and because one of the panels was damaged in two spots. One corner was slightly torn and the other had no adhesive left, but it didn’t really matter because it can’t be seen, it’s just worth noting because they were not in new condition. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase. It has definitely upgraded the interior look and feel of my vehicle. The roof is no longer burning my hand to the touch and I can already tell it’s quieter. Very excited about this. I will follow-up at a later date on this purchase. #happyjeepgirl

I have noticed a big difference in sound and in heat retention ( I live in Canada ). My stereo sounds amazing now, great acoustics. The panel in the back seat will go on easier if you take the hardtop off. Took me about an hour to install .

Wow what a difference. A combination of these and sticky floor mats makes my Jeep sound like a normal vehicle not a tank rumbling

Very poor quality control with this product, especially considering the price. As delivered, all of the pieces the backing was found partially peeled off around all the edges, so now all of the edges have no adhesion. Going to have to buy some spray on adhesive before I can install.
