Great product. We had a rescue pup who spent the first part of his life at a laboratory/testimg facility. He had some serious resource guarding and reactivity issues which was understandable considering what he had been through. Unfortunately, many training methods had been tried and failed. Regardless, we were not going to give up on him. His reactivity started turning toward us and other pups in our pack. We found a new trainer with a "can do" attitude and who shared our philosophy to never give up on a pup, especially one who had such a rough start through no fault of his own. We were reluctant to use an e-collar (most folks think of this as the old "SHOCK" collars, as did we). Our new trainer changed our perspective after allowing us to use one on our wrists while explaining how to appropriately use the device to communicate and not as punishment, similar to click training which did not work for this particular pup. Needless to say, after a couple more months of hard work, he really came around. This form of communication worked where treats, praise, and other communication/corrective methods were ineffective. Is he a perfectly behaved dog? No. But 95% of the time he is. So much so, that he passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification and is working toward his Service level accreditation. We have had this collar for over a year. A few weeks ago the transmitter started acting up and not holding the stimulation level consistently. We typed an email to E-collar Technologies over the weekend and explained the issue. They responded first thing Monday morning with a polite email saying they knew what issue was and simply asked for the address to send us a replacement. That is a level customer service I was not expecting and what is commonly lacking these days. I will definitely recommend their products to anyone looking for an effective e-collar and a company that stands behind their products.

The Educator EZ 1/2 Mile Dog Training Collar was worth every penny, and more! Before I got the 3 ecollars, my 2 Australian Shepherds and 1 German Shepherd [all young and full of energy], loved to go on walks/runs in the mountains; but only came back with me half the time. Sometimes they wouldn't return for a day or two. It only took 1 ecollar run for the puppies to get with the program and always stay within sight AND ALWAYS RETURN. After a month, I might need to 'stimulate' one of the dogs once per week; we run every day. I am hugely satisfied with the ecollars. SOME TIPS/SUGGESTIONS/OBSERVATIONS 1. FWIW - I found the constant stim mode most useful for my dogs. Vibration, tone, and momentary stim worked, but constant stim was more flexible. Specifically, I could change the intensity for a particular dog which depends on the dog, how errant he is being [just wandering around out of sight vs. chasing a deer] and how tight his collar is on, and I could do it in the field. 2. To me, the manual was semi-opaque. Everything was there, but I had to re-read it a bunch of times. 'Could be just me. 3. BUT ECOLLAR'S PHONE/EMAIL SUPPORT WAS OUTSTANDING. Easy to reach and understand, strong followup. 4. go to youtube for lots of good videos on how to use the ecollar with your dog. ecollar isn't a dog training outfit. They just make a wonderful tool for training. 5. When my dogs see the collars, they run to me to have the collars put on them! So for newcomers, I'd stress [like everyone else who's used them] that you're not shocking your dog, only painlessly getting their attention. 6. You'll probably be stunned by how quickly your dog[s] get with the program. Again, I am absolutely satisfied with my 3 ecollars.

Works great and easy to use.

This product is amazing when paired with great training and advice (aka kabral, Larry Krohn or someone local). I have two critiques: 1. They should tweak the user experience via the buttons. I love how you can customize it but there needs to be a better way to easily identify which button does what as I’ll get the sides mixed up. I think some small adjustments could make a big difference. 2. USB-C - I’d love to see an update kit to put a new charge port in for usb c just to keep it easy but this is pretty minor. Highly recommend the product for range, customizability, and features.

Very useful for dog training when use appropriately. Many adjustments, batteries are working well and I have it for a couples of years now and it still going strong. Now I use it mainly if I go to a crowded beach with the dog in case of… just use vibration. I actually just shock my dog twice since I have it. I use vibration and after the shock. It took just two shock to figure that after the vibration he better listen.

Dudé mucho en comprarlo. Al final resultó ser un gran producto para corregir algo de mi pitbull que ya con este collar puede andar suelta a correr y jugar. Sin correa nunca regresó al llamado, ahora con este control a distancia pudo aprender que al solo decir su nombre tiene que regresar. Aconsejo utilizar el producto con inteligencia y con ayuda de un entrenador, no es un juguete

Performs as described and worth every single penny. Easily adjustable and customizable to suit your training needs and the response is instant, no lag and battery life is fantastic, have used in rain, hail and sunshine and dogs have even gone swimming with it on and no issues. Just keeps going and going and has allowed me to get the dogs long distance recall to 100% which gives them and me freedom to explore and enjoy the world off lead.

It's working

I do not normally write reviews however I had such a great experience with this product and this company I thought I would. This product has been excellent so far has a lot of versatility and is very easy to use. I love the led light feature at night. My rhodesian ridgeback is able to run free in the woods and is easily located withthe light. The ability to select stim levels from 1-100 is great. When we first started training 15 was the max we used, quickly went to 10 which is bearly detectable when tested on your arm. Now only beep feature and vibrate is needed. Was nice to be able to set the max stim level so you cant mess up and over do it by mistake! I also had a great customer service experience with the company e-collar technologies. The plastic cover on the antenna had fell off while on a hike and was lost. I simply message to the company and had a response within an hour. I informed them of the situation and they had the replacement antenna shipped within the day. Really great customer service shout out to Jason M at e-collar technologies!
