I have used Jiff/CIFF for over 40yrs cream cleaners, floor cleaners and and others, however when I sprayed this one for the first time a couple of weeks ago the fumes from it took my breath away causing me to cough so much I couldn’t stop until I wretched and it was very scary. Fortunately I’m fit and healthy but if someone has respiratory problems or asthma I worried it could cause a much more serious reaction. I have never had any problem with the cleaning efficiency and (love the fragrance) of Jiff (which changed its name to CIFF in 1974?) and maybe it was an error with just one batch, that had too much of a particular chemical added. For the safety of others I contacted Unilever explaining my experience who replied asking for details. I took the offending spray back to Sainsburys to explain what happened and the Manager was very helpful and concerned, took photos of the barcode, batch number etc. and said he would see what he could do. I then had a phone call from Unilever who had the audacity to say ‘it probably happened because ‘I was sensitive’ and that ‘they could not be responsible for the effect it had on anyone’. If the product was misused I.e ‘drunk by a child’ then the responsibility is with the parent not Unilever, however if the spray, as in this case, was used correctly for the purpose it is meant and causes health issues, then it is ‘their’ responsibility. I have seen other reviews on Sainsburys site complaining of not being able to breath when using it (please look) if you have had a similar experience please write a review as they won’t take any action unless people take the trouble to return it to the shop and email/contact Unilever. A little of your time might save a serious outcome if someone is already in poor health. I don’t want anything out of this, I just care about others - sorry this is so long but it is important. So good I was instantly compelled to jump on Amazon and write a review. This stuff is shamazing. Srs peeps, wow. That cillit bang "bang and The dirt is gone" stuff? Rubbish. Utter pants. It's not gone is it, Cillit Bang? No it's freaking well isn't. But with this? Yep. Gone. Pow. Just freaking gone. Gobsmacked. In all seriousness, being disabled having something I can just spray on, leave and then wipe off and The dirt and grime ACTUALLY goes with one wipe like on the TV adverts is just amazeballs! No scrubbing, just wipe and admire. Like after twosies.
