4Ever Black convertible Top
Forever Black convertible top renewer is nice to have to renew your Black color of a convertible top. I applied it to a Canvas top of a 24 years old Porsche Boxster and it did a nice job. I should take 1 Star off because of the Sponge came apart so easy !!! It dries about 15 minutes inside your garage if you don’t apply it heavily. I left it about 3 hours before drive out to the Sun. It was Ok after that. It was not fade out as people said it is. It really made my top look cleaner, not a brand new but at least 75 to 86% was restored to the original. I would recommend it to everybody I know. Good quality for the Black solution , not good for the Sponge came with it. 1 bottle of 8 Oz. Can do 2 convertible top easily.

Works well on plastic bumpers and fenders
I got this to make my plastic bumpers and fenders look black again vs faded gray. It works well, but doesn't last long. I've only applied once so far and it looked great day 1, two weeks later, it looks gray again.

Works great, if you know what you are doing.
I’m a huge researcher what comes to buying stuff. I purchased a 2013 Mustang Convertible, oh boy, how I love that car, however it looked slightly worn for my taste, including the top, but I was sure there is stuff out there, that can make it better and purchased the car a week ago.So first off - I read some mixed reviews, and wasn’t sure about this product, however after using it myself, I think for the ones it failed, they may have applied it sloppy or done it on direct sunlight. I once asked my friend to help me paint a room, oh boy, never again, he had no clue how to handle a paint roll. Also make sure that the top or the plastic you will apply the dye to it, is completely cool. I don’t have a garage so, I picked a shady spot but one side of the top was hot from the sun and I applied the dye. It evaporated immediately and made it look lighter and then I though about the review, where someone complained that it ruined their top for making it lighter. For a second I felt the same way, but was optimistic because I made the similar mistake with a different restorer on a different piece a day ago. So I waited for the top to cool down, I ended up doing 3 coats and it looks perfect. With this dye, I felt that more was better and that’s why I ended up with 3 coats. I got rid of the streaks in the middle with the 4th half coat. So I just applied in the middle and somewhat rubbed/faded it off to both sides directions and it did the trick. You need gloves, it does get on your hands. Some people complained about the sponge, I found it to be a great tool, no issues. Few spots that I couldn’t reach with the sponge, because it was just so big, I applied some dye on my finger and used that to apply. Some drops fell on my car, if you don’t notice those spots right away to wipe off with a wet towel, let them dry and they will come off with giving a slight scrape with the fingernail perfectly. Also some complain it doesn’t take out lighter spots, I think, if you just do first and perhaps second coats only on those lighter spots for prep, it will cover it nicely, you may need just more coats overall to even it out. It’s the same if you don’t add primer before painting your wall, you end up doing 4-5 coats to for the color shade to look even.Again my top wasn’t in a bad condition at all, I just wanted to look like new and I didn’t like the light seam, so it gave it the darkness and a shine. And I have to say, I think the dye has darkened over few hours. Because initially I wished it to look darker but after curing few hours it really does. Pictures are taken right before and after.

Watch for bad batch....
First off let me say I have seen and heard great things about Forever Black Black top from reputable car detailers. I gave stars off due to the "batch" I received was defective (from a bad batch). I had been restoring a classic Bronco and it's vinyl soft top. I used black top after thoroughly cleaning the top as instructed, I gave it three coats waiting a day in between coats (indoors). The results were awesome, the top looked brand new. After a week of leaving the top set aside to thoroughly cure, I had rolled it up for storage till it was time to put back on the truck. After a few days I unrolled the top to show it off, to find out that there was black powdery dust all over and the top looked horrible, the Black top product has turned to Dusty like substance and came off the top. I contacted Forever Black co., & explained the situation. They asked what the batch number was on the bottle. Turns out they had a "Bad batch" that had made it's way out to the market. They were very apologetic & are now sending me some special detergent to wash the rest off & also sending replacement Black Top from non contaminated batch. They assured me that my top will not be harmed & with the new Black top from the New batch, I should have the results I was looking for. I only lost the man hours already put in & now extra man hours to get the top back to looking new again. We shall see how this detergent & "New Batch" works out...

Works nice
Seems to work well. We’ll see how it holds up over time but a vastly noticeable difference after the first coat. Might apply a second coat, undecided as of now.
