This is a Moleskin Household!
I love Moleskin notebooks. The leather is always good quality, the spine stays strong for years. The lines are helpful for writing, but light enough they won't really show in a doodle or sketch. Great value for what it costs. These notebooks are always high quality, clean. Lends for a real professional look. The elastic strap to keep it closed has held up for 7 years on my last notebook, far longer than most. Even the paper has a nice quality and weight to it.If you've never had one, try it. You'll never go back.

“Mole Lotta Love for These Notebooks”
I use Moleskine notebooks all the time — for work, notes, lists, and random thoughts. They’re durable, smooth to write on, and just feel better than anything else I’ve tried.Simple, clean, and reliable. I keep coming back to them every time.

Trying it again, 5 years later
I took a break from moleskine products for 5 years after being dissappointed by the inconsistent paper quality. But here I am now, I bought another because I heard they are stepping up their game on consistency. I have also become more educated about paper weight over the years, and now I know exactly what to expect from 70 gsm paper: i.e. I know that it CAN handle some fountain pens and inks, but not all. I know it can handle SOME gel pens but not bold or wet ones. Tombow brush pens did well. Bottom line, it's a mixed bag, try this paper for science, if you like...I know it's not as wonderful as tomoe river paper or Clairfontaine or Leuchtturm, but I found a pen that makes this paper really enjoyable to use and I'm excited to use this as my next journal. It's nostalgic for some reason and I dig it.My favorite pen to use on this paper is the Sharpie pen, felt tip, 0.8. It's as smooth as a fountain pen with minimal ghosting, no bleedthrough. I recommend this pen if you like a flowing writing experience.FYI, the softcover has 192 pages, not 240 like the listing says. (The hardcover moleskine page count is 240.)

I Love writing in this notebook. Just the right size
As per my review of the small, cahier Moleskin, I also use this larger size, lined notebook. It has a soft, supple cover; and the pages are a joy, and I mean a joy to write in. You WANT to write in it. I've been using Moleskins since 2005. I use them at the office to document problems and resolutions, I use them as a photographer out in the field to record photo notes, diagrams as needed, travel expenses; and I put the receipts in the small folder pockets at the back until I return to home base. These books are just so amazing to write with. It's a more personal experience. I could just as easily open up a note app, or voice memo app on my iPhone or iPad and do the same but to me you lose touch with the sensual feeling of just writing. The notebook has a soft cover, the pages are lined and spaced evenly. I write in it with a rollerball, or fountain pen and the pages never bleed, nor smear. So overall if you are looking for a gorgeous, comfortable notebook to use in the field, in your travels, or at Starbucks, this is your book.Enjoy.

Read product description fully.
It is definitely ‘soft cover’ which I overlooked in placing my order. Totally my fault. I used to buy the hard cover of the same page layout for journals I kept many years ago and love these things. I am going to try the softcover and who knows, maybe I will like it better! The soft cover is pliable… like thickened paper with a thin black laminate on it. I had never seen this type of cover before so didn’t know it was not the same as I used before.
