Neuropsychological Report Writing (Evidence-Based Practice in Neuropsychology Series) Reprint Edition

Great resource for guiding a new practitioner in how to write a quality report. My children have received several neuropsych evals over the years and recently, I started pursuing my own PhD practice. I wish more neuropsychs would use the product because several of the reports I've received over the years (I have multiple special needs children) have had minimal usefulness.

Some good chapters. I have some concerns about the “differential dx in older adult” chapter though. Several references to minimizing the developmental history in interview and its potential contribution low test scores in an MCI diagnosis is especially troubling.And take the desirable and more desirable examples with a grain of salt. I suspect most trained neuropsychologists trust their clinical judgment in this area but perhaps helpful for novices. I found myself disagreeing with the style of many of the “more desirable examples. This is of course fine since there are many ways to write a report. Trust your clinical judgment.

It is about average but will be helpful to someone just starting on writing such reports.
