Hi, can anyone tell me how the 2 modes are controlled please? Maglites I own have just a single on/off switch. Thanks.

It's a double press thing. You press the button halfway down and it's less bright, then complete the press all the way down and it stays at that brightness. next time it is pressed, the light is brighter. There is probably some logic in the presses which someone else might have figured out, but basically it all works on the one button, and the bulb magically knows what brightness you want, or it will on the next press, anyway.
