This is the best single key harmica.
The Hohner Marine Band is simply the best classic single key folk and blues harmonica. I've been playing for 6o years now, and this is THE ONE. And, if you only want to carry one in your pocket, I suggest the key of D. It is mid-range and great for wailing the blues. If other musicians jam in the key of A (a common guitar blues key) the D-harp is the one to play. This is called "cross harp." So, I always have a Marine Band key of D in my pocket for solo and jamming. If you're a player, you know!

What a difference a quality harp makes!
I've dabbled with harmonica many times in my 50 years on sax, but it never worked out. These harps, in the right key of course, sound so good and play so easily that I'm now very comfortable doubling on harmonica.

Can’t go wrong with a marine band harmonica
For a standard Harmonica, it’s a great price and plays well

Great product and price if the person that filled my order knew the alphabet. Oh well 2 out of 3
Ordered a c received a D, so now I have to drive 30 miles to kohl's to return it. Then wait at least a week for replacement. In short, I should've just went to the music store next to kohl's in the first place.

Old-school pleasure and pain.
Boutght it to play Spokey Dokey by The Seatbelts. Great harmonica, but was hard for me to adapt. You may have a bad experience if comming from a Hohner Special 20 like i did. I hurt my lips from the way the metal is shaped. around the wood. Getting to understand wood takes a bit of time. After playing for a few minutes the wood will expand and the harmonica will improve airtightness. You will not be able to service this harmonica since it's closure isn't done by the means of screws, but of nails - a fact I did not know.

Hohner Marine Band 1896 - Key of D
This is my 4th Hohner Marine Band 1896 Harmonica. I am switching from Hohner Blues Harp. I like the way this model plays. Many of the professionals I listen to play this particular model. I'll get the three remaining ones individually.
