Q: Would this work if aimed at underarm?

This thermometer is not calibrated for the underarm, we would recommend the ear or forehead only.

Q: Do you have to wait a certain amount of time between temperature checks for it to be accurate?

You can! Under the battery cover there is a switch to change the modes.

Q: I read child mode is for 12 months and under only is that correct?
