QA issues
These are my observations on a quick inspection of the tarp. Frayed ends close to stiches. There is a hole for snap button on one edge but button missing.. Bought it from one of the other sellers, but the defects are factory caused. Included stuff sack has only single stich and doesn't look like it will hold up. I will keep looking for that perfect tarp.

Needs 5 more webbing tabs. At least 4.
The reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is because it needs a tab in the middle of each side. It has one on each corner then 2 on each side. It needs a third in the center of each side to set up in a standard tent or A frame configuration to pull the ridge line tight. Otherwise a nice piece of equipment, great color light and packs down well. So I will add 4 tabs to the centers of each side, somehow and 1 dead center of the top side ( so can be suspended from tree in a tipi fashion if needed for versatility. Then this will be one of the best tarps I own.

I really like it. The only thing I changed was I added a 1 inch wide fastex nylon loop in the center so that I can pull out the center of the shelter when in diomond formation setup so as to create more headroom. I also have burned holes in it. I find an easy fix is to go to wallmart and get some spray glue and some camo duct tape. Just spray on the glue around the burned hole and apply duct tape. Done. I really like it. It's a whole world lighter than canvas. Get one. You will not regret it.

Were 4 more anchor tabs tooo much to ask for?
I have always had good luck with Snugpak products in the past and had hoped this would be the same. While the material and construction have the high quality that I've come to expect from Snugpak, the design is what I couldn't get over on this tarp. The snaps may be useful for some things but why oh why did they decide to go cheap at the last minute and omit tabs in the middle of the edges? If you want to construct an A-frame type shelter, I have had to resort to using small rocks with a para chord slip knot cinched over them as an anchor point rather than simply clipping in a snap hook. It got on my nerves enough that I just ordered a DD brand tarp that corrects this design flaw. I'll still keep it as a backup and it is less expensive but if I were to do it over again, I wouldn't have bought this one.

Great tarp but poor storage options
As most snugpak products, I think this is a high quality product. Many options for setup make it very versatile. The problem I have is the storage options. It comes in a extremely well made case that is mesh on one side and clear plastic on the other. The tarp, stakes and guy lines come neatly packed in it. It's too bulky to fit in a backpack and once initially removed from it, I can't think of a reason you would ever put it back into it. It also comes with a "stuff sack" but stuffing the tarp into it is a bad idea. It too is well made but it is only reinforced on one side. The other side is single stitched. I stuffed the tarp into it once, barely got it in and the seams were ready to burst. The only other way is to neatly fold and roll the tarp then it easily fits but that is very impractical when wet or in the woods. If a slightly larger compression sack was provided I think the tarp would be perfect.I contacted snugpak concerning this issue but they never got back to me.

This thing is awesome
So happy I bought this. Tarps are amazing for camping. Provided you know how to set them up proper. Check out Isle of Wight Bushcraft on youtube for an excellent tutorial. They set up quickly and can be taken down quickly. I use this over my tent so that I have superior airflow through the screens in the summer. Provides amazing cover and added protection in the rain.

For hammock camping, you cannot beat this shelter.
Wonderful tarp for hammock camping. I bought another for my wife, we just got back and she too loves this tarp. More than ample coverage- it rained intermittently when my wife and I were out, neither of us and our gear got wet! Light weight, and quick to set up and take down. While I use the included ropes, I do not utilize the stakes provided, not because of their quality, but because I prefer lighter weight aluminum Y stakes. I recommend anyone who hammock camps in rainy, wet, or snowy weather to purchase this tarp-shelter.

but because it is the best 10x10' tarp for ~$60
5 stars, not because it's the best/lightest tarp at any price (it's not), but because it is the best 10x10' tarp for ~$60. This weight of nylon will last a long time as a fly, but not very long as a floor. It's translucent, meaning that you will wake with the sun under it and it won't black-out a flashlight inside it in the dark woods at night. For sun-shade, it's useful but not cave-shade. Arrives with a variety of extra pouches, which can be used elsewhere, but just add weight (tarp is not a delicate flower) inside your pack. A length of dark green 550-style cord is included. The aluminum tent pegs are good quality and might be good in firm clay soil, or tied to sticks and buried in loose soil. They will probably bend if pounded into rocky soil (use hardened steel heavy pin for this abusive application). If you want to spend more money for a few grams lighter weight, search "Cuben Fiber" and "titanium tent pegs", while checking bank balance. The complaint of some other reviewers that the center strap-loops were not sealed has been fixed. The strap-loops are well-taped and sealed to prevent leak-through in the center. Stitching quality is B- (completely adequate), as is the re-enforcement of corners/grommets in this mid-weight/mid-cost product. Aqua-Quest makes a tarp in similar size/materials/weight at twice the price with upgraded attention to sewing-detail (Free Taiwan, not Red China, sourced). Enjoy the low price while it lasts!Unless you fold the tarp flat in your pack, you will probably want a small compression sack to stuff the tarp in for quick solo load-out. If you intend to stretch the center tightly, a ridge-line rope/strap should be used under/over the tarp. There is just 210T ripstop in the tarp, which will not endure being stretched hard between trees.

Better-than-expected
Setup this all weather shelter over top two hammocks and our backpacks during a heavy rain storm (with thunder and lightning) and it worked perfect. It was big enough to block the wind, there were enough loops and holes to tie it down tight. It is one of the heavier items in my pack but it is worth the weight.

The square shape makes it great for setting different pitches
The square shape makes it great for setting different pitches. Big enough for 2-3 people and plenty for 1. Not super light weight but I knew that. Good material, good construction. Great tarp
