I had to take a university teaching course in new math and I did really well. I like the standard old school math equations we used to learn and do (I even like rote learning and memorization) but I can now understand a child's new math. This book starts with preschool teaching numbers and goes to 2nd grade. It is foundational and I liked learning the different methods of teaching children. Even though school demands one way of teaching which is now the new math, I like knowing the old school way and the new way this book uses. Fun for me to read this book.
