Sound is Far Above Price Point! BUY THESE GEMS NOW! Made in USA! Fantastic Work, Image Dynamics.
Sound Quality: These are the best car speakers I have heard in my life. The amount of detail, depth, and transient response they produce is impeccable. These speakers put a huge smile on my face and will bring music to life. I took my time installing these properly and they sound awesome with no EQ. I have never heard this awesome of a sound before in a car or truck. Great job to Image Dynamics. I also love that they are hand built here in the USA.Side Note: I normally listen to lossless music. These speakers are so detailed, you will hear a dramatic difference between MP3 (lower quality) and WAV (lossless) files.Install: I purchased these and installed them myself in my F-150. I made custom 3/4" birch speaker adapters and used foam weather stripping to seal everything up and to help seal it to the door panel grill. I am powering them with a 70W per channel amp. I wanted a stock look, so I had to mount my tweeters away from the woofers by a couple of feet up in the A pillars. With the crossover and instructions they provide, the experience was incredible. I had a large 2kHz to 4kHz dip in response due to mounting locations. I lowered the crossover setting and turned the tweeters up to 0dB. I was able to dial them in really well. Most speakers don't come with a crossover adjustment. I am glad this did because I was able to get a nice smooth response from the woofer to the tweeter. I was so surprised how will it integrated. I have been in professional audio for over a decade and I DIY on my vehicles. These speakers are well above their price. Look nowhere else. I will recommend this USA brand to anyone.

I like these better than the $800 Focals
Initially I got these to replace my rear deck set of Focal coaxials. I never got to replace them, because I determined they weren't blown, they just sound like crap in my Mustang Fastback because of the glass. Regardless, one of my amps just cooked and took out my front component set, the Focals that are around $800. I replaced the amp, and found that it took out one of my Focal mid bass drivers. Whoops. I replaced the entire set of components up front with these. I'm quite happy with how they sound. They are much louder and thumpier than the Focals. The bass on these feels more controlled and tight. The tweeter is a little harsh, so I turned it down on the EQ. I could probably adjust the crossovers, but they're a little strange.I'm more impressed with these so far than the Focals. I'll probably buy another set of these and eventually swap out the Focals in my rear deck so I have a voice match.

Not impressed.
Not impressed at all. Poor crossover design and puny mid bass.

Crisp, clear, amazing dynamic sound
Instead of going with the more "usual" car audio brands (Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer, etc.) I did some research and discovered Image Dynamics. I went with these CXS64 V.2 components after reading reviews from car audio forums, and they do not disappoint at all. The CX-64 midrange drivers' build quality is nice - fiber cones, heavy magnets, and an option to mount the tweeters coaxially or as separates (all parts needed to do the conversion are included in the box). The XS-28 tweeters are also large - about 2" in diameter. The included passive crossovers are a lot larger than I expected, but in return they offer a lot of preset combinations for crossover frequency, tweeter level attenuation, and even crossover slope. The midranges bolted in just fine, but I was not too happy that the only mounting option they give you for the XS-28 tweeters is a threaded flush mount ring - no surface mount pods, which should be included considering how much the price was. After installing them, I tested the sound using varied music with a wide range of instruments and vocals - everything from percussion to jazz to EDM to rock and everything in between. I'm powering these speakers with an Alpine V9 that is feeding each pair of components 200-watts in bridged mode, and the CXS64 combination sounded excellent! Highs were crisp, midrange was clear, and vocals were sharp. Even when playing dynamic tracks the CXS64's did the job and produced god sound.Needless to say, the sound quality was a huge step up from my factory speakers, and unlike the factory speakers I can crank the volume up now and the sound doesn't get distorted at all. My hi-fi addict friends told me that the sound will get even better after these "break-in" which is even better, because right now they already sound excellent.

Clarity a little harshness on tweets though.
Speakers sound great I had an issue with one midbass not playing threw crossover. I had to reseat the jumpers on crossover to make it work. Speakers work fine now I think the tweeters are a little brighter than I'd like though.
