Expensive for a piece of plastic, but it does what it says, measures water flow. Perfect fit and replacement for my Jandy valve cover. Simple to install.

My Jandy check valve had checked out over a year ago and instead of replacing the check valve, I decided on this. It seems fairly accurate and let's me better calculate my necessary pump run time.

This check valve flow meter is easy to install, and is very useful for determining flow rate (for a while). However, you will need to press the label (the one that indicates flow rate) back into place frequently. Eventually, you will find the label on the ground, with dirt, sand, etc. stuck to its adhesive, such that you will no longer be able to place it back exactly where you think it went, with much confidence. At that point, which is likely less than a year after purchase, your check-valve flow-meter will be pretty useless as a flow-meter.

I purchased this since I already had a Jandy check valve. It installed very easy and does what it is supposed to. I have a variable speed pump so this is not only nice to get a flow rate matched to pump speeds, but also very good to indicate when to backwash my filter. My filter pressure does not raise very much but I noticed flow rate would decrease. So, now this will be a better indicator of when to backwash for me. The only concern I have is in placement. There is a disclaimer about Cl feeders and where exactly you put this device. By the pictures, mine is not in an ideal spot but hopefully I don't have one of the 'cheap CL feeders that are prone to leaking'. Since this was a retrofit I had to place it where my pool people placed the original check valve, so I'm just going with it and we'll see.
