Excellent open rack for home and small office, with very reasonable price
First, the TLDR: this is a high quality open rack for home office home lab, or even small office with little traffic. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend for these usage. For a commercial communication rack, or for location with tough environment (e.g. high dust, humidity, or even semi outdoor) this unit lacks the powder coating needed to survive long term (think 10-15 years). You need to look for more expensive racks than this one.Now the detail review:I was looking for an affordable rack to replace my self made book shelf turned network rack when I found this product from EchoGear. The price looks good enough, especially with the accessories it comes with. When I opened the package the first thing I noticed is now well packed this product is. And the steel frame is made out of thick steel that I don’t typically see on server racks. They felt more like the metal used to made the electrical boxes. It is sturdy, and the glossy paint is thick. The design also made it fairly strong. The main structure are the two side frame, plus 2 pieces of steel at the back. It feels like a reverse of how most of the open frame racks are designed, where the 4 “legs” are hanging at the back, and they expect you to mount the legs directly to the wall to get the rigid strength from the wall. For the free standing apology, I think EchoGear’s design works pretty well. The rack was easy to assemble. Although it may take a little bit of effort to put the cross pieces into the left and right frame. But the final fitting is not an issue. Once you tighten the nuts, everything fells in place. The shelf are made with thinner sheet metal, but retain the glossy black paint. One side has the ears bent. No problem there, with the screws tightened, the metal straighten itself out.One thing that’s interesting is that the 2 pieces of metal completing the front section are effectively two 1U cover pieces. And when it says 10U rack, they counted the top and bottom slot, which are occupied by the black metal pieces. The instruction manual did mention you can remove them with shelves and equipment racked in for more spaces.I end up flipping one of the shelves and put it at the very top slot, plus the provided blank metal piece. I did that to give myself an extra space to put my printer on top.The instructions are easy to understand, and with plenty of humor. One thing I wish I found out earlier is the level for L and R are on the very bottom of the left and right shelf, printed along the numbers for the Sections up front. I was looking for stickers inside to tell me the left and right pieces. But their method made a lot of sense. I was just trained to look for that stickers…Overall I like the rack a lot and highly recommend it, especially for the price. For a home network rack or an AV rack. This product makes a lot of sense. However, the rack is made of thick metals. So it is going to be heavier. They also choose to use the glossy paint, and presumably, these are not powder coated paints. So the paint job is a lot easier to chip off. It is also a very simple open frame rack, so you don’t have a top, side walls, swing out sections, and may other features. Although I haven’t looked at their offerings to see if there are additional accessories for those purposes. So if you need something more industrial or for a commercial network rack, there are other racks with the installer friendly features, and the more durable powder coated paint. In a less than ideal environment (besides living room, office, or a lab, or an indoor network closet), this might not be the best choice. But for home users like me. I think they provide a very good quality product, at a very reasonable price, while also look good (thanks to that glossy paint job!)Also a side note, after you assembled the rack, if you don’t find it completely leveled, loosened the screws up front just a little. Let the left and right frame fully touch the floor, and retighten them. You will get it leveled in no time.

Good rack and a bargain compared with others.
Not heavy duty but not necessary for the permanent installation it was purchased for. Coming with two shelves, albeit light duty shelves, makes it a great bargain.Easy to put together. Package came with everything one needs to assemble. Assembly time is fast. Everything fits together which is not always the case with inexpensive racks like this.Won't take the place of heavy duty when one needs it but great for light duty!

Perfect size for a home comm center.
Just reading the instructions tells you the people behind this rack are pretty cool. The rack was easy to put together, it's very sturdy, and inlcudes all the hardware needed to mount to the wall. The 10U size is perfect for a patch panel, switch, PDU and a shelf for other smaller items like a modem/router.The construction is solid, and very stable, and mounted to the wall easily. It included everything needed to mount the other items that I had that didn't also come with their own mouting hardware.

Easy to assemble, built to last.
Excellent! Great quality, easy to assemble. All the right hardware included, TWO shelves and two 1U blank plates. This thing is a beast! And 20-inches deep, while most racks are only 14-15" deep. Will definitely consider this brand again for our projects.

One major flaw
This build really started out well. Great instructions, heavy gauge steel, and it fit together so well that I didn’t have to spend any time with a level to keep all the sides straight as I tightened everything down. The nuts spun right on the studs without any trouble. My only minor quibble up to that point was that it wasn’t powder coated, but not a show stopper. The trouble was that the mounting holes on both shelves were slightly off and didn’t line up with the holes in the rack. I know the rack was correct because I had no trouble lining up the holes on my power conditioner, see attached pic. So using only two screws on each shelf will limit the weight I can put on each. Highly disappointing finish to what was going to be a stellar review.Edit:Echogear customer service reached out to me to understand the problem and voluntarily refunded my money in full. I bumped up the rating to reflect this excellent service.

Solid inexpensive network rack
This is a solid and well-built network rack, comes with a versatile mounting kit for both wood and concrete. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, with a bit of humor added to lighten the mood before one starts drilling concrete to place the anchors.

Great value and functionality
Just like they said, avoid the extra trip for additional mounting hardware. It comes with everything you need to put it on the wall and get your gear mounted. The shelves are handy for home installs since not everything is rack mount ready. I have a 1u UPS, a TPLink 10GBe switch, and a Startech PDU all mounted with no issue, then the two shelves holding a TPLink Oc200, Firewalla Gold Plus and a MokerLink 2.5GBe switch on one level and then an Arlo base station for security cams on the top for clear signal. Easy to install, included all the parts for standard installation and worked with some standard rack mount screws as well that I used for the PDU. Highly recommend for home networking.
