Self Healing Universal Clear Paint Protection Bra Hood and Fender Kit (18" x 108")

Purchased an 18x84" Install Proz bra kit to cover the front hood edge of my Chevy Volt in February 2017. I followed the directions and took my time doing the install and all went smoothly... and it still looks great now in 2024! I purchased and installed two 3M protective film products (3M Door Edge Protection Film & 3M Scotchgard Hood Bumper Paint Protection) at the same time in other areas, and all seem comparable in my installation and use experience to date -> they've all worked well, look great, and have prevented rock chips, door dings, etc. over the years where applied... while nearby uncovered areas have a couple of paint dings. I'm writing this review years later as I prepare to apply some of the "leftover film" to parts of a bicycle frame. Assuming my next car has "reasonable profile surfaces" for treatment (as my Volt did), I'll plan to self-apply protective film again. Very happy w/ the results.

I just received my kit yesterday and I was prepared with my two bottles of solution. I was not prepared with the time involved. The process is very long and it took me about 4 hours. I had some small water bubbles at the edge of the hood that would not go away. I let it stay overnight and used the tool to remove them by spraying the edge again. The material is top notch and worth the buy, but please set aside plenty of time!

This did not stick well at all. It was not self healing. It adhered so poorly that I ended up removing it. Waste of money! The only thing good I can say about it is that it is thick.

I followed the videos and written instructions. And I was patient and made sure everything was sticking and all the bubbles were smoothed out. It took me 4 hours to install this just over the hood section. I thought it worked. It seemed to be holding. I waited and checked on it and held the stubborn sections. But the next day it was peeled up on all of the edges. I cleaned the underside of the lip really well before hand. I made sure there was a 1 cm - 1/2 inch sticking on the underside. I followed all of the instructions. But…. It didn’t hold. I suggest a higher quality product.

I was a little hesitant to attempt applying clear bra on my car by myself (these guys refer to it as Clear Paint Protection Bra), but the savings certainly made it worth the try. The install was a success, and I’m certainly glad I decided to do it! The kit came with the tools they use in their instructional video, and the video was very easy to follow. When I measured my car, it was just under 100”, accounting for the curves in the hood, so I selected the 18” x 108” kit. Their videos show a scratch test where they scratch the clear bra with a wire bush; you can see the scratches disappear as they heat the film with a heat gun—it was pretty cool. Overall, I’m am very happy with the kit; I would definitely purchase it again.

After reading reviews was kind of nervous to install this. Once I read the instructions and viewed the video installation took abut 1 hour. Had this on the car for awhile and no issues with peel or lifting from hood. Ordered another one for front bumper.

This product (kit) was first rate. You must watch the video and pay close attention to all of the instructions offered. My hood has multiple contours which added a lot of difficulty to the install. Be patient and set aside plenty of time to do the install. The materials are high quality and will yield an excellent result!
