Excellent switch/ excellent load rating.
I purchased this to replace a leviton proximity sensor switch that I had installed in my garage to control 6 fluorescent fixtures. The leviton I had installed was very flaky and would turn the lights on but would not turn them off. After some research it appeared to me that I was over the load rating on the switch I had installed. This led me to this switch as it has a larger 6 amp load rating. Install was dead simple, instructions were clear, and best of all it works. I also like the fact that I can set the time that it turns off to 1 minute, 5 minute, 15 minutes, etc and it has a daylight sensor feature to keep it from turning on if there is enough ambient light (you can also turn this feature off). I have the other versions of this switch with the less load rating installed in other switches in my house and love them all. Great Product/Great Price!

Works perfectly once it is installed correctly!
I have been wanting to install an occupancy switch in my garage for quite some time. I originally purchased a similar occupancy switch about a year ago, and despite multiple attempts to install it, I couldn't get it to work properly. I assumed the switch was defective, returned it, and gave up on it for the next year. But, as winter has hit and the days have become short again, I found myself fumbling in the dark for door handles again. In the end, I decided that I needed to give it another go. So, I purchased a new switch and went to install it. And, yet again, I was unable to get the switch to work again. This time, I noticed that Lutron had a customer service line that was open 24/7. A 15 minute phone call later, and the problem was solved. The recommended solution turned out to be using the neutral wire instead of the ground wires for the switch. It seems that the ground in that particular box was not creating enough of a voltage difference to allow the switch to work. Fortunately, my box happened to have a neutral running in it, and this solved the problem. So, while this switch is advertised as not requiring a neutral to work properly, this may not be entirely true for every installation.

... because it is SO DIFFICULT to press a switch button..
You know how annoying it is having to walk into the dark garage and then fumble for the switch..Lutron has turned the lights out on that first world problem. This switch is very easy to install.. a few minutes tops. If you're unsure which breaker the circuit is tied to, I recommend just turning off the main breaker to the house as I did without first notifying the family of 7 and 2 guests that were in the house at the time. Just turn the whole darned house off for your safety (and amusement). This switch is slightly adjustable in that you can tinker with the sensitivity as well as the duration the attached device stays powered on. I'm please with this purchase.

OK, but not if you have pets. Get a Cooper instead.
Great sensor except for one major flaw: occupancy/ vacancy mode switching .You cannot change modes without taking the front plates off. Occupancy mode at night, the cats wandering around would set off the lights all the time. To change it to vacancy mode every night is a hassle, since you have to unscrew the face plate. And if you use screw less decor plates, then its more difficult as you have to remove 2 plates to get to the little recessed button to change the mode. Also when in vacancy mode, once you turn it on, it does the countdown to turnoff, but the sensor during the countdown doesnt work, so it will just turn off and leave you in the dark, requiring you to turn it on again. Its a great switch, but not good when there are pets at night. Wish it had a Pet Immune Sensor like a lot of alarm sensors do.I ended up pulling these out and replacing them with the Cooper Occupancy sensors, which are easy to change from a Occupancy to Vacancy sensor just by holding down the button for 5 seconds. Also when in vacancy mode, the Cooper sensor tracks motion and keeps the lights on. Plus its a much stronger made unit I think with metal heatsinks.
