Light, good looking paring knife very sharp.
It is a light, good looking small knife with nice looking wood handle. It is very sharp so when using it for peeling an apple I'm going to put on my thumb cut off rubber glove piece. Don't like putting on the gloves. Has to be dried after using to preserve wood. Don't use knifes on the glass boards. I have learned this hard way. As nice as they look and stay clean knifes get dull quicky after chopping food on them. This is confirmed on website. I'll use mine for serving appetizers or pastry.

I need more
this knife is a perfect pairing knife size, it's very sharp and very useful, any knife under the kiwi brand are excellent. if i had to say there pros and cons it would be like pro: This knife comes very sharp The knife comes with a comfortable handle It's easy to sharpen if you have proper tools cons: You need to take good care of the handle. It's not dishwasher safe It's not the most easy to sharpen and if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself i wouldn't recommend it as it needs to be sharpened more often. It can get light rust if it sits in water How I take care of the knife: I apply boiled linseed oil weekly, and do light sanding and recoat it, if somebody puts it in the sink or dishwasher. if you're not a fan of linseed oil, try varnish or some poly urethane. Sharpening, i use a 1200 grit diamond stone this is pretty easy since the diamond cuts fast, and you don't need to spend a lot of time since the steel is razor thin. for the finishing /honing step, you can use a leather strop with compound, or my personal choice, a 3000 grit red ruby stone, they are all over amazon pretty cheap, <5$ 1"x4" or 2"x4" the red stone is very hard and gives a slightly under mirror finish. this step is usually not needed, but considering the effort, it takes under 5 minutes to do enough, i usually go ahead. To summarize If you're willing to care for the knife, it's a great knife. It not the best knife for somebody that doesn't care about knifes, but it is certainly a great value. if you're on a very tight budget i would recommend this and the chef or deba knife, kiwi as a knife brand is very affordable and of acceptable quality.

It's A $5 Knife.
This thing punches way above its weight. On sharpness, the very narrow spine means it will handily beat stores' white label brands and compete with businesses whose specialty is not knives (Cuisinart, KitchenAid, MasterChef, Farberware). The factory edge is surprisingly sharp. Much sharper than expected and on par with how my $50 chef knife came. That said, and the reason I'm knocking off a star, is that the blade came with a substantial burr. With a couple passes on a 1000-grit stone, it could slice cleanly through paper, which is as sharp as I really needed it. This is definitely a "Good Enough" paring knife, delivered at a quarter or less of the price of a mid-grade one. You really can't beat the value, even if you can beat the build quality and quality control.

Your Money's Worth and More
This is my 2nd Kiwi knife, and they have both been razor sharp. These knifes won't win any beauty contests, but they are functional. I have more expensive knives, but these are the ones I reach for time and again. They simply work. The blades are thin, so they are not suitable for going through bones and really hard stuff. For everything else they make for almost effortless cutting. You could spend $100 or more on a knife, but I love the feeling I get when I think I've gotten a bargain. And these are a great bargain in my opinion. For the price, you won't hate yourself in the morning either way.

My favorite knives.
Great knife brand. I do A LOT of cooking and have owned a lot of nice, expensive, knives. This brand isn't a heavy blade and not a great handle. But they are one of the sharper blades I have had and the steel is a very good, hard, steel that holds an edge well and is easy to sharpen and hone. I have basically retired all of my "nice" knives in favor of Kiwi knives. These 4" paring knives are also my current steak knife set. Great knives overall.

Great knife for the price
This is a great little knife for the price. It comes sharp out of the packaging and is easy to sharpen with a standard sharpener. The label on the handle leaves some residue which can be removed with rubbing alcohol. I recommend adding some finish (cutting board oil, mineral oil, etc) to protect the unfinished wood handle long-term.

I love Kiwi Knives, they are about the sharpest knife you can get right out of the box. The shaft is a bit small for my hands, but overall the perfect knife for cutting small fruits or peeling off skins of peaches, etc.
