Wow
First of all the presentation is amazing. The box is heavy and feels good in the hand. Open it and the black and gold theme are carried through to the inside on an envelope containing care instructions and a polishing cloth. The knife is held securely in a recess. The manufacturer's photos are accurate and better than I could take so I'll skip that. The knife has a liner lock that works very well, with a spring detent that holds the blade gently closed and locks it securely when open. The fit and finish are very good. My handle scales are a little lighter in color than the photos but I expect variations with wood and don't mind. The knife feels really good to my hand.I'm very happy with this knife and it's much more than I was expecting for the price.I have a couple of birthdays coming up soon and I'm considering getting more as gifts (I'm definitely keeping this one for myself). As a gift, the box and presentation make an impression. That said, if I do order some for gifts I'll probably have them shipped to me so I can remove the plastic shrink wrap with UPC sticker, and so I can open and inspect them first as mine had a slight waxy residue in places. I don't know if that was meant to protect it in storage and shipping or if it was buffing/polishing compound residue. At any rate it just wiped right off.I'm very happy with my purchase. A very nice knife, well built, a fantastic price, and a package that added a little something to opening it and seeing it for the first time. It makes an impression.

Now with liner lock.
The Mitsumoto knife has a striking resemblance to a (currently unavailable) Univinlions “foldable gentleman steak knife” in fact, design and proportions are nearly identical. Even the materials, down to type of wood of the handle are effectively the same. I’m just mentioning that, as the knife is likely rebranded under different resellers. I can’t say whether those are in Japan, but the pricing suggests that at least manufacturing is likely in China or Vietnam. The Mitsumoto knife essentially differs from my older version in two points, one significant and the other somewhat cosmetic. The important difference is that the version shipped under the Mitsumoto now has a liner lock to prevent the blade from folding onto your fingers. It’s a simple and yet efficient design. There is a subtle difference in the blade edge. The newest version is a slightly wider angle for more robustness while only minimally sacrificing sharpness.Overall, it’s a good knife for a very reasonable price.

Handsome and sleek blade. Sturdy handle.
Just recieved this knife today and I am impressed by its sleekness and pocketability.I have found one issue, but have yet to talk to seller yet. The blade is secure and has no sloppiness, fit and finish is good for the money, but the liner lock does not hold if you try to close the blade without releasing it. The liner lock bevel to blade is a little aggressive, and possibly was polished on a buffer that may have rounded the edges a bit. I don't see it as a big issue as the knife really isn't made to use in a stabbing manner. That being said, with the one I recieved, there is the possibility that the blade you become unlocked and come down over my fingers. This may be an isolated case though. Still and very pretty useful knife. I would love to see this knife with a more rustic blade.

Exquisite. Sharp knife! Packaged like expensive jewelry!
This knife was wrapped and came in a box like expensive jewelry. It came with a packaged folded special cleaning cloth. Also, was a desiccant packet to prevent from moisture. It is small and a perfect pocket size. I bought 2 !

Great Knife for Food
I keep this in my desk at work so I have a real knife to cut meat when I bring it in for lunch. Works great, very sharp for a food knife. Cuts well.

Quality, you know it when you see it.
I am 78 and have loved pocket knives for 70 years. It is the most beautiful knife I have ever held. I opened the box last night and an hour later tried and failed to buy 5 more for gifts to my closest friends. I evidently got the last one. The pictures do not capture the feel of quality I got while holding your art.
