Easy to hang and spray.
I have put mine up and in a few hours they have trapped a few yellow flies. Wish me luck. These yellow flies are horrible. Didn't have any. But this year they are harific. Hang before you spay and won't have to use gloves. I live in the south east part of the country. I so hope these work!!

Waste of money.
To bad you can not upload video. You will see Deer fly land on the balls, become a little stuck, but with a little effort, they un-stick them selves and fly off. Totally useless. I know you are desperate to eradicate deer flies, but this is not the solution. $70 bucks robbery for selling such rubbish.

Not very effective IMO.
Not found to be very effective. Would not buy again.

Had my doubts but works Great!
I had my doubts whether this would work or not, and if it would collect other more useful flying creatures (like dragon flies, or honey bees). But after only three days all three balls are covered in nothing but horse flies! I am impressed! +Update - I have ordered these a few times and all of the previous orders have been exactly as described. This years order the Spray adhesive didn't react like previous years. Instead of a fine mist that was tacky from the outset, this years spray came out in strings, and needed to be reapplied because it was NOT sticky. I had to reduce the rating from 5 stars to 4.

Works good
It took a few days to start catching flies, but after two weeks there's a noticeable difference in the number of flies flying around. After about a week or after a heavy rain, you do need to reapply the glue.

they work - what more do you need to know...
Pump it up, spray on the 'sticky spray', and hang them in a place that will get a bit of sun (to warm up the ball, which is what attracts the little stinkers), and breeze (to make the ball sway a bit -- combination of 'heat' and 'movement' are the main triggers). I put up 3 of these at various places on my 3 acres, and honestly, haven't had a deer or horse fly problem since. After 8 weeks, both balls are completely covered with the bugs (so, I don't have flies to deal with because the balls work, not because I had no flies to begin with). If you can deal with the 'visual' (I refer to the them as 'death stars'), these are absolutely the best value for dollar I've found for biting fly control.

Didnt get a single bug last year. Maybe I put them up too late and will try again this year but so far not impressed

Sticky Tether Ball?
Either the deer/moose flies have evolved or this thing just doesn't cut it. Most of the bugs probably just weren't paying attention when they flew into this thing but it didn't seem to attract them to it. The amount of deer flies on my property, I should just whip this around like an Aussie with a bullroarer and probably have better luck than to just have a dangling blue ball in the middle of my yard. Still haven't given up trying, nor have the deer flies.... probably just burn the whole property down.
