Q: Can this be worn where it can get wet? And I mean soaked?

Personally, I would never wear a hat like this in the rain. It has a coating but is not meant to be a foul weather hat. It’s a great show hat but for foul weather, you’d be better off investing in a rainproof, crushproof cowboy hat.

Q: my husband wears a 7 up to a 7 1/8 size hat. Should we buy him the small/medium or the large/x-large?

This hat is made out of hard plastic and will not form to fit. Unless his head is the exact size of the hat, then it will either be too tight or too loose.

Q: Can a chin strap be added to this hat?

It's not designed for it but you could punch holes in it and add one I guess!
