Only the two outer plug outlets are switching, the centre one stays on.

My search for smart extension with dumb proof operation ends here, I can use individual switch via voice and phone without limiting the traditional interaction, I don't need to tell alexa to flip the switch right under my finger, Only issue I have is - TP link has its own app and as almost all my other devices are Smart Life / Tuya, these get left out in creating scenes and automation.

The first thing that you notice when unboxing the item is that it is top quality. It has a thick cable and the unit itself seems very well made. The cable is only about 1m long, something I couldn’t find in a description before purchasing so might be a consideration for some. Got this to control all of my outdoor Christmas lights, powered from the garage and it does the job brilliantly! Easy to setup and use app to control schedules. App is very nice looking and self explanatory to use, can setup loads of automation or turn individual sockets one and off at the touch of a button. You can assign custom icons to all your devices and give them names to organise them. Alexa integration works perfectly. Very impressed with this product, it is top notch.

I have various Kasa devices and this was a new one to me. It’s simple to set up and easy to use. As with all Kasa devices, you can rename each socket (except the USBs and those are always powered on). There are various features such as Schedule for when you know you want to always have an appliance turn on at a certain day and/or time, a timer function, an ‘Away’ function which can be used, for instance, if you have a lamp plugged in and are going away for a few days. It will randomly turn on the lamp for you between the times you choose. Then, lastly, there is runtime whereby you can see how long that appliance has been running. The only thing this lacks is the ability to see how much energy the sockets are using which I really love on my other smart plugs and lights. However, this is still a great product and I will be buying another very soon. 4.5/5, losing half a star for not having the option to see energy usage.

Initially bought this to have an individually switched extension socket; the strip has buttons to control the power manually as well as though the app which is nice. There are lights on the strip as well, one for each socket and a couple to show power to the strip but they are (thankfully) not bright enough to illuminate a dark room like some others, while still indicating the strip is on. Set up was easy and seems to have synced with my Tapo app as well- I am unsure if you still need the Kasa app for initial set up of the device but if you have Tapo devices already you can operate this strip through Tapo as well.

I've got quite a few TP-Link smart products and they are generally well made with user friendly software. This device is no exception and feels very well made for a 3-way extension. This 3 way Smart extension lead works well and is easy to use with 3 individually switched sockets and the ability to remotely turn any of them on/off with the Kasa application. I wish it had more options for sockets (i.e. 4 or 6 sockets) and also the Energy Monitoring feature which is really useful. The American version of this product has 6 sockets and Energy Monitoring but it looks like TP-Link have decided not to release a similar product in the UK... yet...
