Amazing craftsmanship
These things are amazing. I got several for my children and myself. They feel very solid and sturdy. Breaks rocks like a champ too. Handle feels great.I was worried I should have gotten the longer version for leverage but it turns out this length is plenty good for leverage. As far as what I need at least. They were worth every penny. Don't cheap out. I nearly did. Glad I didn't now. This is well worth the money and will actually last. I've tried a few. This ones durability is superb. I can't wait to try out some of their other rockhounding tools!

Amazing Rock hammer!!!
Best rock hammer out there! Doesn’t take much damage I’ve used it so much and my God it stays sharp and sturdy as hell! The use of speed I would say is great cause how light weight and small it is. Great comforting grip.

Amazing!! Loved hammering rocks apart with this.
The 22 oz is heavy for kids and a bit too long so I'd get the 17 oz if your kids are younger than 10. But the kids, teens and adults all loved this tool, we had a big group and two of the picks and everyone loved it. Took me average of 13 hard hits to get a geode to crack open. The kids took longer but loved it. Get safety goggles, the rock shards really fly off!!

Don't go cheap.
You get a quality tool with a quality name. Bought for digging "moonstones". This "pick" drives right trough them. Just bought the 13 oz. for my Wife.

Great tool for digging out agate veins
I’m definitely a Estwing fanboy, but for good reason: all of their metal hand tools are made in the USA and one forged piece of metal. This geopick did the trick and helped me crack out a small agate vein - got some nice pieces. It did the job as expected with no signs of cracks or bends like most cheapo hand tools you can find at most hardware stores these days.I’ll always have this on my belt when I’m out digging for agates 👍🏼

Lasts forever
High quality tool. My second purchase of this product. The first purchase was in 1978. They last forever. I polished the handle on the old one and it looks too nice to use :-( , so I bought another.
