easy and cute
this was my first time using polygel or any nail extension for that matter. this doesn’t take too much practice to get the hang of :) the kit has everything you need besides maybe an e file! my first hand took 2 hours and the second hand took an hour. skill comes with time and practice. i love them!! perfect hoco nails. my nails are very thick bc i don’t have a drill/e file but that’s ok. it is sticky to work with but soap and water washes it off real easy. i suggest having a paper towel nearby (you will need to wipe your brush on it, clean up slip solution, etc)

Good gel, ok kit
The gel is fairly easy to get the hang of, but the tubes of gel are pretty small and the lamp included is not great. I would definitely recommend getting a different UV lamp, nail form clamps, and an e-file bc the gel tends to get very thick under the nail

Great for beginners!
A little over a decade ago I used to give myself manicures using tips and glue. It was painful and really damaged my natural nails so I stopped doing it when we got multiple pets and my husband was afraid I would hurt one with my nails. I get salon pedicures on a regular basis but was missing my hands looking pretty with manicures (I have short, stubby fingers.)Fast forward 12 years and I stumbled across this kit on Amazon, watched some YouTube videos and thought "why not give it a try?" You can see my before and after for both hands, the nails look great on my very first try and I'm very pleased with the color and quality as I love a natural look with a tiny accent (I put a small snowflake on each thumb.) I'm now 58 and have old-lady hands, but at least the stubby fingers look a little more elegant with the polygel extensions. One of the mistakes I made was pushing down too hard which caused a jagged space along the sides between the natural nail and polygel once cured and the form popped off, but instead if soaking and starting over, I brushed and filled the gap, cured it and buffed to smooth out. Worked great, you can't even see my mistakes, for which I give all the credit to a great product.Yes, the curing light is very small, but it works great. The gel was pretty easy to use and I got the hang of moving it around the form in no time. I never even used the slip solution, just 71% alcohol and it worked great. It did take me about 2 hours from start to final finishing touches, but I should be faster next time as I have learned a few lessons from my initial set. The kit has a great base/top coat included and plenty of forms to select the correct nail size. Overall, this is a very good product at an amazing price (I should be able to get another 5 or 6 full manis out of it) and the kit had everything I needed to be successful with the exception of the videos, which I cannot stress enough for beginners. I have already ordered another tube of the light apricot polygel so I don't run out. I highly recommend this kit, particularly if you are new to this type of home manicures.

The first gel is not clear it’s white
I guess I was in a rush while I was shopping so I saw this product and assumed it was one clear gel with one nude/pink gel and thought they’d be nice little samples to try out. Well, the “clear” was a white polygel and it’s basically unusable. I do like the look of milky white nails so I figured I’d make the most of my mistake and use it still. Unfortunately it is just too opaque for the polygel to cure properly (and I used my own lamp which is strong enough because the little one in this kit is not strong enough to fully cure polygel) so I had the nails on for one day and by the end of it my nail beds started burning. Then the nails started popping off at which point I realized the entire underneath was still liquid. Be careful and read the listing closely.

Where do I start….
I never write reviews, but I am compelled to write one on this product. I am so mad that I wasted my “me” time trying to put on some nails while my children were napping. This product is honestly trash. I am a licensed beauty professional and although not certified in nails, I have been getting mine professionally done for two decades and have diy experience doing my own as well. I was so excited to try this seemingly simple concept, and to be able to do my nails at home without having to purchase everything needed to properly do my own gel & acrylics. The polygel is incredibly messy, sticky, and hard to spread. Imagine you are trying to spread Elmers glue onto a nail tip… well it spreads worse than that. IT IS SO STICKY and clumpy looking! The directions say to spread onto the nail form, apply slip solution to the nail form, then apply form to your nail and somehow create this sorcery where this nail form is supposed to “sit! and “stay!” on your nail while you clean up the excess around your cuticle, make it look nice then cure them with the light. Easy in theory, sorcery in real life. The moment you place them on your nails, they pop off, not allowing you to clean the excess. Also not allowing you to even be able to cure them properly so you’re having to hold the STICKY nail form in place to get it to cure… which you have to do 2-4 times per side because the light isn’t strong enough to cure it on a one and done. Then you go to carefully take the nail form off and the whole polygel nail breaks in half… if you even get that far! Holy *+%#!! Now I did get one nail to work perfectly, like a perfect, perfect long white matte coffin shape, somehow by the grace of god, and I go to wash all this sticky junk off my hands with my chemical free hand soap and my one beautiful nail… and the whole polygel nail lifts. You cannot make this stuff up! Junk, junk, junk! This simple easy concept was so cool in theory and totally got my a%%. I’m extremely disappointed. I would much rather pay my $100 per set for real acrylics at my favorite salon or buy all the equipment to do them myself than ever try one of these kits again. Don’t waste your $20 or your time.

Doing my own nails has never been this easy!!!
I absolutely loved this product, I used to spend a lot of money on my nails and now I’m finally able to do it on my own, it honestly took me less than one hour on my first try and although I’m not an expert or anything, I’m really proud of how they look. The instructions we very clear and helpful, highly recommended 😊
