GUNSONG4113 Timestrobe Xenon Timing Light

Simple to understand the instructions and the strobe light shows the timing marks clearly in operation. I used a sharp black pencil to make my engine timing marks stand out.Make sure that the arrow mark on the HT lead sensor clamp is pointing towards the spark plug, as the arrow mark is not obvious until you look for it.

Parcel arrived quickly, packaging was simple but effective and easy to open. Strobe light is well made and nice to handle. It works well either from the vehicles battery or from a separate battery. The instructions for use were simple to follow....BUT....failed to mention that the inductive coil that is clips round the HT lead well not pick up the spark from a well insulated HT lead. The first strobe light I received I sent back as it appeared not to work and the chap I spoke to at the supplier did not mention the flaw. I only discover this after talking to the owner of my local motorcycle shop. I checked the strobe on my lawn mower - it worked. On my motorbikes - nothing. I had to make up a poorly insulated insert to fit between the plug and the lead - tried again, bingo. Used it to time a Norton Commando motorbike I am rebuilding. The spark was bright and effective and the trigger to switch on the strobe is a nice touch as it means the strobe can be left attached without it flashing all the time. All in all very good once I worked out how to use it.

It arived OK no problem,s I am useing it a motor bike,my workhorse a Kawa GTO where I am ,or a KH 125 it has now done about 120000 miles, the ignition is CDI should not need doing ,but the engine has been re-built a few times it runs OK , allso here in Thailand all our fule is gashole.a 10% mix of ethyl alcohol, allso being a 2 stroke it does not like this fule thrown the carb settings out,so I thought I had better check the timing.Having used one before it was ok to use ,I liked the trigger to switch it on and off, never had one befor,had to put a white line on the TDC mark to show up the line clearer , no proberlems with bright sunlight,it was about 37c when I used it.Only problem was, above 5000 rpm could not see the mark ,but this being a high reving 2-stroke bike I did wonder if it work at high revs, for what I payed it works well.So, all in all can not complain .Sunflower

Great product for the money. I was able to adjust the timing on my car quite easily. Very straight forward to use.

Easy to use, I used a separate 12volt battery to power it as my vehicle is only 6 volts, works but light is not bright enough hard to see timing marks with light in daylight.
