When I got my trash can, I really thought the odor filter was a gimmick. I was wrong. The filter sat, unnoticed, for quite a few months, when all of a sudden, my trash was smelling up the house. I had no idea how vile my trash was! And then I remembered the filter...and the fact that I didn’t have any new ones. So I VERY quickly ordered replacements, and in the meantime, I threw in a fish tank charcoal filter I had. Well, it was either that or move out of the house until the REAL filters arrived! The fish tank filter helped, but it sure didn’t cure the problem. FINALLY the real filters arrived. OMG! What a difference! These filters work SO well. I can finally can take a deep breath of air in my house! (The last part isn’t true...the smell was so bad, even with the fish tank filter, doubled up, that I put the whole thing in my garage until the filters arrived.). I swear that I will never run out of filters again! So if you have a trash can that takes filters, stock up, people! Even the scented bags that go in it, they’re not going to save you! Buy these long lasting filters!

This product works great for controlling odor, but the adhesive tape provided is garbage. Itried putting it on a diaper bin, and like others experienced, it wouldn't stay. I pulled it off (it came away by hand with ridiculous ease), and after scoring the smooth surface of the bin to which I wanted it attached, used a hot glue gun, and it's solidly stuck on there. As noted, if you choose to do the same, be sure to roughen the surface you want to put it on by scoring or crosshatching it with a knife, or rubbing with coarse sandpaper. Otherwise, the hot glue will not stick well enough to keep the box on. Hot glue does adhere very well to the box though, so prep your surface well, and you're good to go! In all other respects, I give this product full marks. It's completely removed the odor of a bin holding pads for bladder leaks, some pretty stinky stuff.

Made a huge difference in the way my kitchen smells.

We have what we call a "kitty credenza" (long cabinet), where an extra large, stainless steel, open cat box stays hidden out of sight for our large Maine Coon kitty boy. Because the cat box has no lid with a carbon filter in it (like we used to have in the past decades for smaller cats we owned), sometimes bad odors escape the credenza. Therefore, we thought this might work well inside the cabinet. And, yes, indeed, it does! Some reviewers said there was a problem with the unit sticking on the surface. However, we cleaned and dried the surface of the side wall and found the unit sticks very well. We've had it in place now for a month and have had no problems. If that does occur, it would be little hassle to just replace the self-stick tape with something stronger. I highly recommend this product.

I got one of their trash cans from a local liquidation store and it's awesome for wet diapers. I loved the built in deodorizer it comes with, so I ordered the two pack for my other garbage cans. Sad to say, the adhesive does not work. One trash can I had to super gorilla glue and weigh down for 24 hours for it to stop falling into my trash and the other stainless steele trash can, luckily my husband caught it and set it aside but by the time I noticed it gone, I thought I already threw it away. I have yet to reattach. The deodorizer actually works but for heft things like diapers, they do not last the 9 months, I recommend ever 5 month change and the small version much more often.

Fantastic product that does a great job of absorbing odors. I attached one of the containers with command strips on the top of the trashcan lid and it helped to fight odors. If you don't need to hang the packet, you can use them plain. I tossed a refill packet in the bottom of my cat's litter genie and it's helped with the smell a lot. I also tossed a couple of packets in the corners of the fridge, which helped to fight food odors. (I have kimchi and other strong-smelling foods in my fridge.) I like this item because it doesn't just mask bad scents with a stronger scent.

These are massive and the adhesive is not strong enough to hold the weight. Originally bought because the plastic holder in my diaper genie broke and I coupd not find a replacement. This is way bigger and does not fit a diaper genie lid. Instead tried to make use of it and use it on our garbage can lid. Within an hour it fell in the garbage from its own weight. By the first day it got lost and mixed in with the garbage. Not sure if it helps with odor or not since it got tossed within 24 hours essentially. Not incredibly useful. Feel like I can't really give it lower stars because it may or may not work well at killing odors, I wouldn't know.
