Never had a decent soy sauce until I tried this one. Much better than store bought soys. Salty, yes, but balanced with the rest of the sauce. Not watery but has a great consistency and color to it. I use this for ramen and love it. Worth the money. Would recommend for someone looking for a great tasting soy sauce.

First off I just wanted to say that I never thought I would imagine myself buying a premium soy sauce at a premium price but I was drawn to the bottle and was low on soy sauce so I decided what the heck, I’ll give it a try. At worst I’d have a pretty bottle to display.And boy I have to say, this is some tasty soy sauce! I’m now spoiled! I’ll never use the watered down extra salty soy sauce the restaurants give out. There is no comparison. Let me repeat, there is no comparison!Yes, for soy sauce it’s kinda pricey but in my opinion, definitely worth the cost! It has a much richer taste that the usual cheapies out there. You can tell just from the taste that there was a lot of love in producing this product.Besides the pretty bottle, It comes in a nice presentation box too so if your so inclined, it would make a nice gift (if you can keep your hands off of it long enough to give it as a gift that is! Lol!)It comes very well protected so it should arrive safe and sound. Besides the box it comes in, there’s a special bubble sleeve that fits around it and then all of that is fitted into another (plain) box so my dears if this gets broken, then the Gods that be just didn’t want you to have it! My nephew recently started cooking and loves to explore new sauces. We are so happy with this sauce, not only for the rich flavor but for the beautiful jar it came in. I will be repurchasing once he is out. Highly recommend this as a new addition to your soy sauce collection!

This soy sauce caught me off-guard--after seeing a documentary on how soy sauce is made in different countries, I decided that I needed to try some "authentic" soy sauce. I looked on Amazon and discovered this one had good ratings, so I thought I'd try it. As soon as I got it, I tried it on some Chinese food, and was a little disappointed. It was okay, but not what I was hoping for, so I had decided that I would give it to a family member to keep it from going to waste. Then I got some sushi and thought I'd give this sauce another try... Holy Schnikes!!! It was incredible!!!So... give it a try, and then give it another try. I use another soy sauce that is more complementary to other foods, for when I eat Chinese or Korean food, and I save this stuff for when I eat Japanese food. I don't know why some sauces work better for different foods, but this is THE best when eating sushi or other items of that type.It should be noted that it comes in a very cool bottle, that makes it quite giftable. It can serve as a decorative yet functional addition to a kitchen.

This sauce has a depth to it that other soy sauces lack and it's not watery. The taste is exceptionally good. The price could be reduced by using a cheaper bottle. A clear glass bottle that you can see how much is left inside.

This is absolutely delicious and the bottle looks great, the seal was broken though and it was slightly leaking I dont think it was tampered with. when I run out will order again for sure and if next bottle is not damaged will give it 5 stars

This is delicious. Beautiful bottle. I have used it for dumpling dip and it was superb. Made a dish of shrimp fried rice and finished it with a pour over the top and it was outstanding. Well worth the price.

We've been on a soy sauce kick lately. From the Yamaroku 4yr Kiku Bisiho (from the documentary) to the Nama Shoyu Organic to the Kikkoman Japan Organic and Pearl River we like this sauce. Rich and dense with a typical soy sauce flavor. The Yamroku has a floral dominant flavor we like but is not standard to our palate. The 1608 has that standard flavor you will know and appreciate. For the cost I prefer Nama Shoyu, then 1608, and then Kikkoman Japan. I keep all 3 on hand now for different uses. Try them!
