Does the job
Does exactly as it was supposed to. I could only wish for a better method to fasten the probe in the radiator. I put a vacuum line cap, stuck on with silicone to make sure it didn’t fall out under vibration.

Works as intended, but...
Had it on my car for almost a week now. I wired this unit with a relay, as others have warned, rather than directly to the fan so that the unit does not have to deal with high electrical current. It works fine, but I was hoping the lowest setting would kick my electric fan in at a much lower temperature. I had to set it at the lowest setting to get the fan to kick in where I wanted it.

A mixed bag...
The thermostat comes in a small box with everything you might need. Mounting screws, connectors, a small bundle of wire, etc. It was very well made. However, the instructions were a little too basic, only explaining the installation steps, but no testing or troubleshooting instructions.Even with that one sheet of instructions, everything goes in well, and the fan comes on when I need it to. Would buy again.

Works great. easy to install & set up
Works great. easy to install & set up.To get it close to your nornmal temp set the probe into hot water. When it is near your operating temp set it to where the fan just kicks on. Of course you need to wire the fan up. Once installed in the car it is much easier to fine tune.

Works, But Has Many Flaws.
Only 2 stars, I really wanted to give this 3 or even 4, but with an item as important as something that controls your cooling fans... It kinda' needs to be near perfect to really trust it, and I can't say that I do.This is my second controller, I returned the first as I thought it was bad. I could have it set to come on at 210 (5.7L TBI Engine) and it would work, but then sometimes it wouldn't come on until 230 or even 250. It would also run for far too long when it did come on. If it came on at 210 it would keep going long below 160! I spoke with Flex-a-lite and they told me this should be accurate within + or - 10 degrees when the probe is installed close to the radiator inlet. They also told me this should only run long enough to bring the temp down by 10 degrees then shut off, not the case as I said previously.Fast forward to my second one. Still off, but not near as bad and it's a lot more consistent. However it still runs for far too long adding extra wear and tear on my fans.Rhis product does work, just not as well as most people would expect it to, especially with the Flex-a-lite name on it.

It's a yes!
I installed this on a 1988 Mazda RX7 Turbo to delete the factory fan and I installed a 40 amp relay and used one of the switch contacts to run to the ignition and the other two run to the coil on the relay and grounded the other relay coil connection to the body thereby eliminating any heat failure of the device as a precaution.. I then ran a fused circuit to the relay with a larger wire and then a larger wire out to the fan along with an additional trigger on the coil side of the relay that gives it a manual option should I require it.. I like them!.. I did all that because the car had a four seasons one in there when I purchased the car and it was pooched... it was more of an all-in-one with a relay attached to it and it probably failed from demand and or heat
