Q: Would this work for a large textbook?

It did not work for a large novel (close to 900 pages) and some textbooks are at least that big. With the book I tried (and that book was the reason I bought this stand), it was too thick for support ledge and there was no possible way to make those page holders work. Very disappointed and will be returning this product.

Q: I have a very heavy nursing textbook its looseleaf binded almost 2,000 pages will this be good?

I think you might want to find something sturdier. Also, the two page holders might not fit over the pages of your opened book.

Q: Will it work for paperbacks?

Yes it works for all kinds of books and papers and has promised to keep them pages in place if needed
