We wanted these for our headboard lights in our bedroom, but that didn't work. The lights are beautiful, don't get me wrong, but you should know that because of the shades the lighting is very focused and doesn't spread out a lot so for reading these might not work. I ended up putting one in our guest room mounted over the headboard and one beside my computer desk. They work great for that. Especially the one by my desk so I don't have to turn on the overhead light that has 3 blaring bulbs in the ceiling fan. This puts out enough light so I can see what I'm doing when it's dark, without being blinded by so much light. They really are beautiful and the shades put off a bit of a shadow of the trees. I just wanted you to know for reading, it might not be enough light if that's the only light you'll be using.

I love how they offer a soft light by our bedside, and because of the punched out texture of the trees, it projects a very pretty textured glow on the wall. They are just perfect for a bedroom. Or soft reading light.

I actually was really excited to receive this set of two accent lights. They were super easy to install with clear instructions and are a fairly good value for the money.The shades, however, need to be rethought. They may be perfect with an Edison-style LED lightbulb, but with a standard opaque warm white or daylight light bulb, it just doesn't work. There needs to be an opaque background between the shade and the bulb for two reasons:1) We were going to set these up on the entertainment wall in our living room on either side of the television / bookshelf unit. Who wants to stare at a lightbulb?2) Even with LED bulbs, the metal shades can get hot. Again, an opaque filter such as on a standard lampshade between the metal and the bulb would be a definite improvement.Because of these two design flaws, I subtracted one star. We also decided to go with another set of lamps where we had planned to install these.

With the price I was nervous, but the shipping was fast and I am shocked how well they are built! I love them!! I'm going to buy another set! Everyone that sees them likes them!!

Packaging was in perfect condition but the shades were dented. Pushed some of them out but still has a few small ones. Should have checked them over better before installing and tossing packaging. Otherwise love them.
